F75 Standard w/7.7 software

I have an F75 standard with 7.7 software and was thinking of upgrading but I am having serious second thoughts. The machine is extremely stable, with seemingly minor EMI problems even in high EMI environments. I really love the way it performs! I'm just not sure that adding DST with additional modes is going to give me the bang-for-the-buck for the investment. I mostly coin and jewelry hunt with it. Any thoughts on the 7.7 revision of software, or other input, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just a thought, could you just be in an area with low EMI? Wonder how your detector would act in another area? So lets say you move or go on a trip and take your detector along, would you have problems then?

Just some thoughts on what if,

Ron, I have another high-end detector (brand X) that I have tried in the same area and it seems to be very sensitive to EMI. I hunt near an area with high tension power lines and the brand X struggles. I'm a bit mystified as to how a standard F75 does better than the brand X. Your thought is spot-on though! I'm sure I'm missing something somewhere, either I have an unusual F75 or there is a serious operator problem (me!). I'm baffled. Last but not least Ron - Thank you for your service to our country! As a veteran myself - Air Force '73 - '77, I truly appreciate what you and others did for our country in an incredibly difficult era in our country's history! Thanks for the input!!

I had a standard F75 that worked great too . Not so much the F75's with added modes..Wish I had kept the Original F75..

Maybe Fisher will come out with a classic F75 ?????????????????

My only issue is it hit mid 60's full pull tabs always as a high coin reading.. So I did dig a lot of them looking for deep wheat's and silver..

What kind of depth do you get with your 75? If you are recovering some decent depth targets, I would be inclined to keep it and run with it. My regular F 75 was a chatterbox. HH jim tn

I've hit a clad dime at 8" in dry mineralized ground. I think keeping it and leaving a good thing alone may indeed be the best choice. I just have that nagging Dark-Side feeling of "got to have the latest upgrade" personal problem that I have to deal with! :>(

I hear you.I just had to have the Camo with cach & BP modes when it was released.. WOW was it bad LOL...................

That's fine depth. I was able to get a bit more depth out of my regular 75 with J E mode. There are some things about the F 75 w/DST that aids for certain situations. Like, heavy trash and hunting over tall grass or over low woods brush. If you hunt any of those kind of spots, then the up-graded DST version would have some strong merit. HH jim tn

If you're not having EMI problems I would leave it alone. That being said, if you do upgrade,I don't think you'll be upset.

I just got the ungrate about 2 week a go. Used it 4 times in the field. Looks ok but seams to be more sensitive to elec. Maybe. They have some new mode that is fun to work with and do wok good. I'm using a 5x10 concentric coil. That maybe some of the electric problem.?? I'm glad I did it but that will be up to you. Hope this helps

Thanks to everyone for their input. It is much appreciated! I have decided to not go with the upgrade. I have a feeling that this revision of software my have had some EMI chatter mitigation but this is only a guess on my part. I would hate to spend the money on the upgrade only to find out that I get a marginal increase in performance.
