F75 Settings For Deep Silver

Randy In Kc

New member
Question for those of you who have dug deep silver, or any other deep coins for that matter.

What settings are you using to get maximum depth.

When one of those deep ones hits, does it have a nice "round coin sound" or is it more of a "whisper"

Do they sound like a shallow coin but only fainter?

Do you have a coil cover on your coil? I do and have always used one. I don't think it affects depth. What do you think?

Just trying to get an idea of what to listen for. Some have said they hardly look at the meter and go by sound instead. So what do the deep ones, I would say anything over 6 inches, sound like?

Thanks, Randy

Been out twice with my new F75 and really like it a lot.

I try jewl mood and get it to where it is under control I never use a coil cover. The deep ones don't give a clean tone in calif and in the gold country you get a beep kind of broken but hey you dig on the number not the tone.

When I was in upstate NY I was in JE, GB 80, sens 70-80 and disc 65 3H and would dig 65 up. Most of the time the tone was pretty solid unless the coin was laying on, under or next to trash which was the case most of the time(I guess that is why they were still there) and then it was a little scratchy but I could still ID it as good.
I do not use a coil cover rather I use marine epoxy on the bottom and sides.
I do not use these settings everywhere as they are pretty hot and only when I am short of time and searching for old, deep silver

The coil cover should have no affect on depth. Just remember that you need to clean it out on a regular basis.
