F75 portability

The last few years I have been combining my two favorite hobbies. Backpacking and metal detecting. I have been using a CZ3D, which I think is an excellent machine and breaks down and fits into my pack, sort of. More like it gets broken down and strapped to the outside of the pack. Anyway, does the F75 rod break down into 3 sections? Can the control box be removed from the rod? Basically, how would it be for trying to take on a 3 day backpacking trip?

No, wires run back to the battery housing in the rodBasically, how would it be for trying to take on a 3 day backpacking trip?It is very light weight, just need to see if the housing would be OK

So the biggest piece would be a rod section with the control box, battery box, and arm rest?

How rugged is the F75 compared to something like a 3D which is pretty heavy duty?

I see you are located in Greenville, SC. I used to live down the road in FairPlay. I worked for a while at the Hitachi plant back around 1990. My first real detecting trip was to a park in Greenville. I had a 1225x and my boss had whatever the top of the line Garret was at the time. I dug my first IH in a spot he had just walked over. He was so mad I thought he might fire me the following Monday. I do miss that part of the country!

To tell you the true, I don't know, I have seen a few saying it is but I can not say for myself.
