F75 or T2

n/t

jbm why dont you buy a T2 and you will see how it beats the explorer hands down instead off asking others .

Until the F75 gets more feedback from field use there's not enough information to make a fair comparison.

are you saying that the t-2 is better than the explorer and is that for coins, relics or both. thanks.

I find more coins with the T2 ,than I ever do with the explorer, and its a lot lighter.:detecting:

..Nice sentiment, Ant. One I usually express to the folks in the "what about this detector vs that one" crowd. Im getting a 1236-X2 for the same reasons you mentioned. I don't know if means I have "cojones" or not, it's just what I want to have a go at next.

Most the posts on the boards have spoken highly in favor of the T2. Some have dared to opose it and even sold their T2 on Ebay. But to those who stayed with it and learned the way it functioned, most are glad they stuck with it long enough to give it a chance.
One thing is sure....None have spoke of it as having short comings. Only benefits.

i have a sovereign and have found a lot of coins with it. others that went from the sovereign to the explorer found even more coins with the explorewr. i will be getting a t-2 for the gnrs hunt so i hope to do alright with it. thanks.

JBM, I have a T2 and it is a great detector and it is easy to use. Though the F75 has yet to be released, it appears to be a T2 with memory and a backlight. General Motors had a practice for the last 20 years called "shared platforms" and it was a joke. A Buick Century was a Chevy Malibu, but you paid an extra 3,000 bucks for the Buick. It was essentially the same car. This is what I anticipate happening with the T2 and F75. Do yourself a favor and buy one of these used T2 that are selling for around 450 dollars. I have had many detectors and a backlight was not worth an extra 100 to 150 dollars. The memory is a mute point because there are only three adjustments in the disc mode and they can be made in seconds. And finally, I have not ran into any place that electrical interference made hunting impossible. Just my two cents. R.L.

I like the T-2 as it is easy to use and light weight and did well with it for new coins and even got some deeper ones too, but when I went head to head with 2 Explorer XS in parks hunting for coins they seen some deeper coins than I could with the T-2.I seen some smaller items then they could with the Explorers and feel the T-2 is better for smaller items.
I have one of the new Fishers F75 ordered when they are released and feel there will be more to gain with these then the T-2 than a back light and a memory as I been reading that they will be different as the coils are not interchangeable and they will have a smaller coil for the F-75. Time will tell when they are released and a few have used one how they will compare with the T-2 or even the Explorers, we hope to see some improvements being they been held back to make sure everything is just right.

If your using a T2 and decide to flip for an F75. You will eliminate the learning curve with the newer machine. Sure there will be a couple of new things. But you will be able to pick up where you left off instead of going through the process with the F75.

It all comes down to what works in your area and have to wait on feedback from hunters who have used both to compare..Certainly appear similiar but the guts may be completely different..I like that post about the cars as its a truism for sure as I have a Mercury Sable and for all purposes its a ford Taurus with an extra bell or whistle...
Same might be the same for your comparison...
I find more coins with the T2 ,than I ever do with the explorer, and its a lot lighter.:detecting:
I use a T2, mostly for coins, and love it. My ratio of good finds went way up as soon as I bought it (previously using a Bandido II and a Fisher Excel).

I haven't used an Explorer. I'm sure they're fine detectors and probably comparable in effectiveness to the T2 for coins. But, I think they weigh about 2+ pounds more than the T2. So, for me, that would mean less hunting time with the Explorer due to tiredness resulting in fewer finds. Also, I've found small gold items with the T2 which I understand the Explorer can't see at all.

Hey Jeff;
That's a very good point! If fact it's an excellant point. Basically stabilization of the T2 can be acheived with proper adjustments for a given ground condition. I still hesitate to ponder on the new F75 and what it might do, at least while I have a Full Powered T2 in my hot little hands.

I doubt Dave Johnson intends to have two competing machines on the market at the same time. But if that happens it's bravo for him.
Win Win.

There's been an overwhelming amount of speculation about the F75 and how much more stable it is over the T2. That's hard to imagine, mine is very stable, exceptionally I'd say. There are good features in the F75 I've heard of.For instance the Lighted Display is going to be a plus, I hope I can trace that circuit and simulate it on my T2 it should be doable.
If the rest of the speculations pan out, you better order plenty.

JM The T2 and Explorer depth will be very close if you don't need any discrimination on either. With discrimination the Explorer will be 1" to 1.5" deeper in my soil. The T2 doesn't have a memory to hold the last used settings. This really bugs me.

Hi John, the T2 has no memory but when you switch off a detector your usually going to move location ,so you will fast grab anycase then there is only, discrim, sens and mode, hardly thirty seconds for the lot ,the explorer is, heavy, cumbersome, and out dated ,the T2 will find more in any one session than my explorer will.:wiggle:

I spotted a gold coin on the surface in a ploughed field a sovereign coin ,and ran the explorer over it NOTHING AT ALL, unless you open up the iron mask high it would not sound off on the coin .not saying this happens all the while but it happened to me ,also we keep hearing you must go slow to pick up targets ,the T2 SIGNALS ALMOST INSTANTLY .
