f75 only pennies

explore

New member
Hello I'm Canadian i guess you guys might not answer but here goes I'm playing with my f75 notice that with new clad dimes and quarters I'm not finding them. But with looney and toonies i can pick them off. old clad no sure only found 1946 nickel, but man i can find pennies like crazy should call it the penny machine. Can any one help me with the settings. I tried factory de settings but like i said pennies little help thanks

I'm not much help.I've found some Canadian Silver quarters and a few silver dimes here in Montana and of course your pennies. They IDed close enough to US silver coins that I dug them.

The problem with the new Canadian dime and quarters is they are ferrous so they will stick to a magnet. These will read low on the meter and give the sound of iron is why you are not seeing these while the copper in the pennies and the older silver coins will read like the U.S. ones.

What do you think I should do with the set up just dig everything. they change the clad so many times that it will detect under iron also nickel and quarter. expensive unit and my sons ace 250 is finding more them I'm finding. what should I do ? to improve my findings
even gold is in the modes that I'm trying to avoid

I noticed this too with some of the canadian coins i have. I my be wrong but i think the F75 is tuned for the US. Try calling fisher and see what they say. Maybe you can send it in and they can tune it to your style of coins.

I found a dime this weekend that ID'd in the 70's and showed a considerable amount on the FeO meter. I went for the high numbers.

Hi Thanks for the replies guys it would help me if you tell me your settings so I may try them to see. The Fisher is a good unit no dought I have to understand the FeO as well. I'm sure I'm passing over the new clad But they all have the same sound the sounds same.
Whats settings are you all using for coin hunting

For coinshooting, my favorite setup is disc. 6, sen. 75-85, notch 1 ,(no notch) tone 3h and de process. On your newer clad coinage, lay some of them on the ground and note what they id. That should at least get you in the close ball park for digging some other then mostly pennies. Good luck. HH jim tn
