New member
I've read all the positive posts about the new F75 LTD an my question is,
is anyone having quality issues with this new unit like we had with the
original F75. My unit was sent back twice before issue was resolved,
[ NO PUN INTENDED] just want to make sure there are no issues before
I invest [1200 dollars] also is it really that much better than the original.

Thanx,

F75-LTD-???

Both my F75 and LTD have been perfecet from day one

Hmm. issues. Without firing up the masses, I didn't see issues with the F75. Were there some that didn't operate properly, sure. No different than any product. As a Fisher dealer I am always looking for none. There were a few coil problems to start with, but I think I'm getting off topic a bit here, sorry.

What I wanted to say in a nut shell was, if you wasn't happy with your original F75 I doubt you would be with the F75 LTD. It's that same basic unit with a updated processor, and a couple of new, enhanced programs. If you like the way the F75 operates, you may discover you like the LTD even more. It does do a few things different. Most noticeable is it's quieter if you hunt with low disc. or no numbers, and the target response has been enhanced. I can tell you more after a bit more usage.

Have a nice day.

Issues or problems call it what you want, some were more than just coil problems,
as my unit's Circuit-board and coil was replaced, but it was fixed so there is no problem.
It was not my intention to downgrade F75 or any Fisher product as that's all I use. I do
like the F75 were in my post did you read that I don't. I was just asking a simple question
about the F75-LTD.

"Is it that much better" is going to be somewhat in the eyes of the beholder because their individual criteria will vary amongst different people. The very first thing I noticed with mine was almost all the targets I heard with the LTD in BP (while running it in a semi-stable manner in fairly highly iron mineralized soil in a weedy site) were in fact inaudible in the old modes (again with a similar degree of stability as a comparison). That was HUGE to me because what could be better than realizing I wouldn't have found the target with my old detector? Be advised that was with those particular targets in that ground and I had previously hunted the crap out of the area with my old 75 and Omega and even a T-2. This is definitely one of the boost mode strengths. If you can and or choose to run an original 75 maxed out, you will see less (or not be able to determine the "how much" as easily) dramatic increases in depth. And I hesitate to really say that because stop and think...if you're maxed out in an original mode, you have at least a chance at hearing SOME targets that you may not hear if you were running milder settings. But, how often do operators take the time to confirm that? "The heat" may sometimes come at the price of loosing a target here and there in the noise too. So there isn't a single way to attack a site typically for maximum rewards. You'll need to try different things and see for yourself what and how many strategies produce and then try and figure out why, if that sort of thing appeals to you. And that's the fun stuff because at that point you have gotten finds using several different approaches, which is much better than trying to figure out why you didn't find anything and wonder if it was the site, the detector, or skill level related. Bottom line is there are definitely some things the LTD can do that an original can't. Whether that means justifies the end will be entirely up to you. The amount and degree of those things will vary based on how you are used to running the original, at what sorts of depths and in what sorts of ground your targets are resting, and your taking the time to learn the additional performance possibilities provided in the LTD. My opinion? Uh huh, Oh yeah!!!

There were a few issues sending back a new detector for a gasket and a update and then being charged for it was the biggest one for me.
I do now have the LTD and like it little more depth in boost mode and runs a bit quiter.

Outside the few bad coils as Mr.Bill Indicated the biggest issue with the F75 was hearing targets you never heard before. Also at speeds of recovery you never heard before. Many thought the F75 was falsing.when in fact it was not.Nor was it unstable as thought by many.
I have not tried the LTD yet.but I expect it will hit even more targets and sound unstable to many users. Just take your time, don't try and compete with the others posters..if you find good stuff on the get go.."Great".if you do not, just keep practicing..and listening... You will hear and see good targets like no other machine has ever produced before.Something else I did notice. The original F75 works just a little different in every area you detect..You can not set up one hunting program and get good results anywhere you try using it. Each area will require just a little different settings......

I know it took a while for a lot of the detecting world to figure out the F75, but it seems to me I remember reading about quite a few quality control issues that were more than just operator inexperience when it first came out.

No issues with my LTD so far, I'm very pleased and downright amazed with it, but I never used the previous generation F75.

Thanks Marcomo,

That's the type of reply I was looking for, to answer other post REPLACED CIRCUIT- BOARD +COIL=problem
with unit not user, after 26 years of experience I do know alittle about how a unit should operate.

thanks,
