F75 LTD- VS- T2 SE

Mostly coin hunt at schools and parks, which 1 of these detectors would serve better for this? Also EMI between the 2, in boost mode do both have multi tone? Have heard the regular F75 is really noisy. Thanks Tom

Interesting choices, I have the 75ltd and seems to be the noisier of the two from what I read.
I don't think from my experience that coins in schools and parks are either machines forte.
For quick sweeping an area for surface coins my 75 works well but I always opt for the e-trac whenever I get serious as the ground around here forces me to run minimal sensitivity settings on the 75 because of the heavy falsing.

E-trac and Explorer se are my other possible choices but a little worried about customer service issues from some people. Tom

If you are talking just modern clad hunting, why get the above mentioned machines? Overkill in the field and the pocket book. Kinda like using a 30-06 for squirrel hunting,.... where the ammo is worth more than the squirrel, especially if your on target.

Now, if you are thinking of expanding into old coins, silver and relics, that's a different story.

Tom I have the f75ltd cammo. And the t2se. Both run about the same when it comes to emi. The f75 is a better park and school coin hunter. I find a narrower detection width and a slightly better pinpoint accuracy with the f75ltd. No depth difference in boost. Tested that theory in several locations The t2se in boost. Is 2tone only. Same as 2f on the Fisher however the 75 in boost process is not set in 2f you can choose any tone set including dp 99tones. I run the f75ltd in je. 2f sens 75. Disc 5. Right in the heart of the city here in northern ny I have no real issues with emi. I will say it!!!! The emi issues are way over played up. I believe in effort to deter new users from buying one and making Incrediable finds. My choice f75 saves you're last settings t2 doesn't. T2 a great machine f75 se or Ltd. More customizable. I love both. HH. C t Both are great. And first Texas customer service is first rate!!!!!!! Felix at fisher. Lupe at teknetics. And of course. Mike Scott and Dave J. Will always help. I have spoken to all forementioned and all are super helpful.

I agree on the emi issue being over played. I hunt with an f70 and only one time time did it get real chatty. I was right next to a power substation and all it took was switching up one frequency and the noise went away.

It's the detector hitting targets so fast on reset abilities their hearing targets other detectors miss due to nulling.

Hi Elton. Thank you just my observation having used both. And I can attest to what Elton said it will absolutely hear things where other machines null. I've used many detectors over the past 41 years and I have gone over the same ground with every new machine some better than others but the new first Texas machines. Have picked out targets amongst heavy trash and iron. I have used the other machines that you were considering and honestly they have nulled in the same areas. Being honest. Now if you were a wet sand salt beach hunter. My opinion would be a bit different. Best coin I have dug to date or deepest anyway with the f75 ltd is an 1893us quarter and it was in a ball field next to an old school. 11.5ins down. Ground balanced at 86. Was running boost 3h. Sensitive 80 disc 10. OK. And again at a wet salt beach. Bbs. Or fbs will excel. HH. Ct. Oh yes the 75 is backlit for night hunting but is not switchable its always on. Makes no difference in daylight and does not drain battery t2 not backlit

c t and Elton, from several years of experience with the F 75 and F 75 LTD, you guys are spot on regarding the emi issue. I hunt all over with mine and very seldom have emi issues. And in my opinion, it is a pretty darn good coin detector and for relics, not to shabby either. There is a lot to choose from in a nice light weight and small package. HH jim tn

Hi Jim. You know. I didn't mention relic hunting and should have. Both the Teknetics and the Fisher. Are great relic machines. I have found many buttons. Coppers buckles hinges crotal bells. Heck the t2 was gnrs winner. Couple years in a row. The machines speak for themselves. But I find time and time again you have to be comfortable and confident with you're machine to succeed! Tomcat check the forums if you decide which unit you want to go with you will save $$$$$ get to use the machine meet lots of good people and if it don't fit you're style keep it in good shape and trade or resell it. Heck that's what I love about this form and this great hobby after every major manufacturers that I have used I've settled on that which works best for me. I'm 73 I hunt parks schools fresh water beaches and after harvest. Large stretches of corn and hay and soy fields the sheer power the long battery life and lightweight. Customizable. First Texas line is my choice they're super fast deep. And as forementioned. The people at first Texas are great helpful and friendly. Now again there are many great machines for years I swore by fbs and I made amazing finds but for me best all around fit. F75ltd and t2se. Dave J and mike Scott have been involved in this industry for years and they are great guys to talk with. Gone are the good guys of the fbs machine. Dick shultz. Guess lagerstrom tom and my old friend Bruce Candy! That said. Good luck in you're choices and great finds in you're futureHH. Ct

Tom,
I bought the F75SE(special edition) which I understand is the same as the F75 Ltd, has boost process, etc.., I have used it a few times and find it to be stable, accurate target I.D. and finds coins deeeep. Early this year I was hunting a plowed corn field and located 3 Indians and a Large cent. The large cent was an honest 11 plus inches.

I have yet to experience any interferance issues due to EMI. The F75SE does sound "chatty" while idle and more sensitive settings, but as soon as the detecting motion starts it is hardly an issue. I use both Black Widow headphones and some wireless TDK headphones. I like wireless due to owning a Whites V3i.
The TDK's seem to work very well and I do not experience tonal sound quality problems or any signal delay that I have noticed.

I especially appreciate the ergonomics(well balanced), long battery life(close to 40 hrs. on one set of AA's) and the light weight. In my opinion no one can go wrong with the F75. Right now I just need more in the field experience as I always gravitate back to the V3i.

Question for Tom: Are you in the Cincinnatti area? trying to correlate you handle I guess.

Yes Cincinnati area, how do you like that V3i? Does that detector have good depth, any special features you like about that detector? Thanks Tom

When I first got my T2 R5 back in 2006, it was very noisy in two locations I liked to hunt. It would chatter with coil held in the air motionless same as on the ground. One was at the school playground with city powerlines above. The second was nearby several homes and also beneath some fairly major rural distribution lines. The power co had recently switched over to auto-reading meters that relayed the data over the lines. In those two places I had to lower sens so far, to the 50's and 40's, I felt I must be losing depth. Especially when none of my other detectors had any issue with EMI. That included a Gold Bug 1 original model and an early 2001 BH Time Ranger.

Once we moved far away from any powerlines, I could crank the sens up into the 90's. More sensitivity does relate to greater depth of detection. EMI and falsing are the practical limits as to how much can be effectively utilized at a given site. Slow and short sweeps differentiate between multiple targets. EMI chatter and noise is there always and gets in the way.

For me, EMI was severe enough that good hits were hard to pick out and I reported my honest impressions to the forums along with a few other users. Later that summer, my coil failed when submerged in a creek on a hot day. The rapid cooling of the black plastic can create a vacuum that sucks in water. So I sent it in for the 6.0 upgrade and a new coil. After it came back, it was better behaved. I can run sens up to the 80's now in these same two areas.

The T2 is a more sensitiv and responsive detector. This can make it seem more nervous or high-strung than the sloth-like response lag of the Time Ranger. It did take some field time for me to learn how to best use my T2. I still use the Time Ranger and it makes a good sidekick to the T2. My Time Ranger is an early version with full ID in no-motion all-metal, which is how the T2 operates.

I run the regular F75, and hunt with two guys who use the T2. The F75 seems better for coins. The T2 seems more stable with EMI. I dont think it really matters much, as long as you take the time to learn the machine.
