F75 -LTD users - opinions of this new detector.

I have a T-2 which I really like and enjoy using. My only complaints about the T-2 are that there is no backlight and how noisy/chattery it is when I run it in the boost mode. I'm thinking of trading it in on a F75-LTD or possibly a T-2-LTD. I'm leaning towards the F75-LTD because I heard that it runs fairly quit in the boost mode except for some pops and clicks , plus I've never tried a Fisher F-Series detector before. I was wondering if any users of the F75-LTD could give me their opinions on this new detector. Thanks for your time and input. ~~~~ CoinShooter-Craig

There is plenty to read on this post just start hunting for info

I spent 3 hours using the ltd today. My friend who hunts with me has one as well.

We hunted an old ball field thats never been searched and had a field day! I really like the F75, but like the LTD better. In BP it seems to run much smoother than DE or JE modes. I was running in 0 disc, Bp mode, 2 tone, sensitivity 90 and ground balanced at 70. I am sure I would have found some of the coins I found today with the regular F75, but a number of times I would get a good repeatable signal and check it in DE and would probably have passed on it as it was so faint and short. The BP mode increased the sound as well as duration and that's why I dug. I found a walking liberty half and 6 silver dimes including a 1908 barber, two mercs and three rosies. Plus a lot of wheats and two silver rings. My friend found 3 siver dimes and a bunch of wheats, but since he was using the small coil I found about twice as much as he did.

I other thing I played with was if I had a signal in BP that I wasn't sure about, I would switch to CL. Significant increase in sound if its good, but you must figure out the right sweep speed. Yes the VDI wouldn't match what I was getting in BP, but I was just using it to confirm that I had a good signal. I was using CL just to confirm the target and wasn't paying attention to the VDI. Worked very well for me.

The machine ran very quiet, only emitting grunts from the iron in the ground, but all the coins sang out loud and clear.

We have an 1806 farm that we hunt and have done pretty well with the F75, we will be going back after we finish the ball field and use the small coil to see what we can pop out as the iron and nails around the house are terrible.

This is what I've learned so far using the LTD. I have a lot to learn about this new machine, but so far am very happy with it.
