F75 LTD Question

Anyone using the 13'' Ultimate coil over the 11'' stock coil? How is the weight, separation and depth advantages? Mine came with the 15'' Fisher coil and it is heavy. Thanks Tom

I ran the 13" Detech on my standard F75 for a while after drowning my original 11" bi-axle last year. Honestly I don't think I gave it a fair shake. Never had a deep coin find to really gauge it against my time and experience with the 11" though I know it is hard to top the 11" as many have found out.

But you know there is a reason the 11" was chosen by the original design team for our machines.

Fast forward to a couple months ago , I bought a new Omega with a used 13" Detech ( real hard to come by for this machine). Well I have been using the 10" elliptical and the Detech on the F75 even though Dave J has said that performance may not be optimal doing so.

That being said I was able to detect my silver coin ring at 9" , at 10" it started bouncing around. This is buried depth testing not air, air testing this coil is crazy good.

Also It swings like a joy once to get used to its width. Sensitivity to smaller good targets, I recovered two sterling fat CZ stone stud earnings at 3-4" ( the set were 20" away from each other) , so I think the sensitivity is there. But again I don't have the hundreds of hours with that coil on my machine like I do the 11".

I know its a long post, but I hope its helpful since $180-200 isn't an easy pill to swallow especially if you aren't happy with the coils results.

Thanks, i've seen some post on youtube with the 13'' ultimate coil on the T2 and Explorer se, the se was detecting against a E-trac and was picking up targets better than the E-trac. They said that coil on a T2 is awsome. Tom

Tom,
I certainly didn't see more depth when I had mine but more coverage. I tried the 15 and like you said its heavy. I've done well with the 11 inch stock and its my choice for me. I use my ltd mainly for field hunting as its fast and DEEP.

I've read plenty of reviews and seen a few video reviews of the 15in and none have persuaded me to buy the 15in, I'm happy with the 11in DD. The 15in would be nice for added coverage but the depth has not impressed me.
