F75 LTD in CL Mode?

BobBool

New member
Hello, I'm new to the forum and wondering if anyone runs the LTD in CL mode. I'm having some success but wondering if anyone else has any tips.

I mainly coin hunt in red clay (SC) soil.

Thanks in advance!

I don't hunt in it very often, but I do know it is a deep mode and it forces one to slow down to a crawl. However, I don't like the audio as well as BP. HH jim tn

I thought that too, but try this bench test: In a low EMI environment, mount the LTD in CL mode so the bottom of the coil is exposed. Pass a coin over the bottom of the coil at various speeds. Tell me how fast you had to move your hand before the ID became inaccurate.

That's a good test. But perhaps the ultra-slow sweep requirement has to do with recovery speed in CL mode. Anyone care to comment on that possibility?

I saw someone post that the regularly hunted in CL mode and by using a very low sensitivity setting (like 5) they were able to swing a little faster and were getting coins at monster depths. Give that a try when your testing and let us know what your results are.

CL mode with the 15" DD should get some depth eh?

HH,
Brian

Been a while since I posted this - anyone try the CL mode to hunt for coins, or anything else for that matter? It's still my favorite go to mode.
