Went out to hunt some woods today near my home in Germany and found these two sweet little silver coins about a foot from each other. I am guessing it was a small coin spill. These two coins make it number 4 and 5 on my roman coin count. On the left is a silver denarius from Marcus Aurelius and on the right is a silver denarius from Trajan.

Very nice and neat old, OLD, coin finds. Where you are, does you soil have much mineralization? HH jim tn

Thanks I really love finding those roman coins! I live near Wiesbaden, Germany. The soil here is not that bad, however I do haft to ground balance a lot because it fluctuates constantly.

Wonder what caused the drop? If only coins could talk, laying there for all those years...dang! nice job!

Wow -------- Really awesome finds. What history !!! Congratulations. CCH

Are they common finds in your area, or considered unique ???

I have only found 5 roman coins in about 8 months of searching so I would say they are uncommon.

Nice finds. Those coins are very interesting. Your fortunate to be located in area with such depth of history. Thanks for sharing.
