F75 Level 3 finds

tink

New member
Yesterday while we were out hunting I noticed that the battery level dropped to level 3 on the F75s meter. I was pretty impressed at how many hours I have gotten on the machine before it even dropped. I can only say that I have between 25-30 hours on it. Whats more impressive is the amount of clad, jewelry and artifacts I have dug with it.

Heres the finds I got with it so far less about 32 coins I just threw in my jar the first hunt. Also not shown is an 1908 Canadian One penny and 7-8 wheats I got on a Sacramento trip I have in a binder I keep my best coins in.

I am sure I could have had a few more coins with the my M6 but the F75 is finding so many coins deep it just takes me longer to dig them out. I would say that 40% of this batch of coins came from atleast 6-8" deep. Thats some tuff probing with an 9" screwdrivier.

One other things that accured to me while taking these pictures and thinking about my hunts is this. I sure don't cover as much ground as I did before becuase I am finding more coins per square feet. Not to much stuff hets pass me now.

Good hunting (dirt fishing?) When my F-75 got so it was at the 3rd bar when turned on I swapped out the batteries. I figure that was just about 30 hours of use.

The M-6 was on my short list for a visual-readout detector. I think it might have the advantage in pinpointing, but I'm used to the DD coil and it doesn't slow me up much.

Speaking of digging. I find my Lesche is falling short with the pointy tip and the wide "ears" of the hand-guard. I just bought a square-tipped digger without side flanges so I can scoop those 8" & 9" coins out with less time and hole size.

I'm on my 4th set of batteries and approaching 3 months of swinging my F75. I hunt almost daily for an average 3 1/2 to 4 hours and usually change batteries after a couple of hunts when getting to the 3rd bar. That is about 60 hours on a set not fully drained. HH jim tn

Jim, hope I can get this much more on the next three levels. Its really great grabbing this machine and not having to worry about batteries. I was starting to wonder how long it was going to take to see the 3rd level show up. It amazes me how deep this detector goes and sensitive it is to every things around and not use hardly any juice.

Charlie, I Loved my M6 and had to sell it for the F75 purchase. I don't regret it one bit. To tell you the truth I am better at PPing with the F75 then the M6. Not much but they ever come out with a smaller coil I don't think anyone will have a gripe about the F75s PP ability.

As for the digging tool, good luck and let me know how you like it. I need to get something better then my screwdriver for digging out these consistently deep coins now. Takes me a lot longer now to dig out a coin then to find it when I am at these schools and parks.

Charlie,
Could you either post a pic of the new digging tool or even better, post the MFG/price.
If the specific info is politically incorrect (read not a sponsor?) please email me the info.
Thanks in advance,

I had been condsidering having a "T" handled digger made and saw this. The handle is offset 90

Hello Tink!
That's a nice pile of loot you've got there! I took possession of Bigg Fisher Dogg F-75 a week or so ago and initially the unit performed fine. However, I had a bad coil connecting end and the vendor replaced my dog with a brand new pup. In fact, it arrived today. I've already logged about 4 hours on it. I'm glad to know the battery life is substantial.

Charlie!
Thanks for the tip on the "90 degree handle-flat nose digger" from Terry! I just placed an order; he's a nice guy although a little bit "exact"! The digger actually comes in three models. Terry's also a Fisher dealer for those who wish to know. :)

Hey Charlie, what are the measurements on the blade? My Lesche tool tool measures six inches to the guard, then another four to the end of the handle, and is 1.75 inches wide. I think I might get one since most of my digging is in the grass and lawns. Thanks,
Ken

2-3/8" wide X 7-3/4" long between the tip and the handle. Full length is 9" & the handle is 1" dia. X 4-1/2" long.

Dug 21 coins with it in 55 minutes today on my lunch break at the town park. It does seem to be a faster finder than my Lesche. I think mostly due to the width at the tip.

I wanted it because that grip style is LESS strain on a wrist; as opposed to the broke-wrist grip needed for a straight handled trowel. I shoot traditional longbows and I know a straighter wrist is much stronger.

It also allows you to put your upper body weight over the tool whan pushing. In the image I am reaching farther forward than I normally would - partly due to the contortions of trying to snap pictures with my left hand while digging with my right. Try it - tain't easy.
