F75 ,how to I hunt volleyball courts?

I figgered i would take my new F75 out to a couple sand volleyball courts for easy digging and learn how to pinpoint, etc.I have never done well at these places. I usually just get a few coins and some toy cars and pulltabs.Any suggestions? Seems like there ought to be gold rings and chains at these places? Where do the players usually leave their stuff before they play? Maybe I should look in the grass instead?
Thanks-Tom,ps,what settings should I use or at least try?

Use it just like anywhere else, you might need a sand scoop (assuming the court is sand) to find things easier. Make sure you don't discriminate gold rings out, the usually read low to pull tab range.

One of the best places I ever hit for a target rich spot was the split rail fence beside a volleyball court. I figure folks sat on the fence and probably tossed their jackets over it, too. I'd find 30 coins along every eight foot section. Found two rings and a silver locket, too. No gold chains. Oh well.

Maybe I just need to go over and watch a volleyball game one of these summer evenings and see where people put their stuff and see where they sit down to watch, etc.,sounds like a reasonable plan of attack anyway? Heck, I do know a guy at work who broke his ankle playin volleyball.I can ask him a few questions.

Here in Penna, the kids put their stuff on the ground by the poles that hold the net. The sand under the net is good too, because people jump high to spike the ball and often don't land on their feet. The baseline (where they serve from) is the third spot I hit.
We had a real "goose-gagger" (downpour) yesterday and tonight the sand was dried really uneven, so I used the PF setting (plowed field). Worked great. I like to keep discrim very low (6) and use DP tones so I can try to hear the rings (and flip tops).
Hope this helps,
Keep in touch,
