F75.....HOTT on buttons:hot:

I was able to bag this very cool Revolutionary French 64th regiment coat button this weekend with the F75.....
I'm in the process of moving, & my Troiani button book is packed away, but I'm guessing this is part of "Rochembeau's March" which passed through this area in 1780.....
This is "as dug"...looks to have nice brown patina under the dirt.
HH,
Bill

Wow! Whether it was dropped then or later from a jacket taken as a trade or trophy it still boggles the mind to think of it's history. VERY nice!

General Sullivan's army passed through here and burnt an "Indian Castle" (aka squash and corn stored in a bark longhouse) on his way to meet General Clinton and then together on to the Battle of Newton and I am eternally hopeful one of his troops lost a button hereabouts.

This is a big coat button, so it sounded good @ 6-7" inches. Sensitivity was like 65. I hear some thresh chatter, but that does not bother me. I was digging soild repeatable signals....
Hh,
