This may look way off topic at first, but the F75 helped me find a circa-1850 trash pit near one of my early cellar holes the other weekend. (It overloaded on some barrel bands within the dump). I opened it up carefully and found just 2 whole bottles intact. The stoneware one on left is a master ink I believe, & the other whole one is a 12-sided pontilled medicine. But the pit was loaded with what they call in the bottle world, lotsa "criers" The broken amber flask could have been a find of a lifetime. It's a mega-rare "Stoddard, NH. Flag Flask". Estimates from a couple bottle experts say if whole, it's easily a 5-figure bottle....perhaps as high as $15-20K! Instead, it's the biggest heartbreaker of my entire treasure hunting career so far. The other bigger dark green one is also a very rare bottle. An "Oak Orchard Acid Springs, Alabama" spring water bottle valuable in it's own right. I have e-mailed this same pic to an expert for an opinion on what the value of this "crier" would have been. I'll let you know & if/when it's over $1000., I'll cry some more
Thanks for looking,
Bill
PS. The flask still holds value as what they call a "study piece". In other words, if someone collects "Stoddard" bottles or flasks & wants to own one badly.....well, this is as close as they will get. So, it may still be worth hundreds as it is here......
