F75 concentric coil?

How does the open elliptical concentric coil perform compared to the 11" DD on coin size targets in a actual hunt not in a air test? My ground is mineralized 3-4 bar dirt so which would be the better choice for me?

I just bought a used one myself, but I pulled a muscle in my lower back last Sunday and so I've not put it to any soil test yet, and your not interested in the air test results, but what
I'm seeing so far as compared to the 11" DD is its very close to the same depth limits, and my hopes are in the concentric's ability to discriminate iron (deal with iron) a little better
in trashier areas and get near the same ground coverage. As bad as my back is I may not get to do a real world test with the coil until next season.

Dang Mark I hope it heals quickly man. Back Pain is no fun.

I have fairly mild soil over here in W Tn, 1-2 bar dirt, but am under the impression that DD coils do better in heavy mineralized soil? Never used any concentric's on my F 75's, but have a 12" concentric for my A T Pro and I really feel I get less performance from it depth wise then the 11" DD. HH jim tn

I love mine, it came as the standard coil on my F70 and I used it for many weeks before I got any DD's then after using DD's for months I switched back just for a change and I was a little shocked...the tones on most targets sounded different...clearer, tighter, sweeter is as close to a description as I can get.
Over precious metal like silver or gold in either jewelry or coin form, It...Just...Sings!
Hard to explain the difference but listen to targets using both types of coils for a few hundred hours and you can tell.

Works great on hated pop tops and can deal with trash and iron infested sites easier than you might think.
The elliptical concentric has a shape that to me mimics a DD, it has a distinct sweet spot and pinpoints like a laser.
As far as depth in good soil my concentric lacked about 2" compared to the 11"DD in getting an accurate ID, (12" vs 10"), in my bad soil where I hunt now it's a wash.
Neither gets super deep here, it is more about dealing with masking and both kinds do well for me in that areana.
I am in Bama, red clay, natural occuring iron everywhere, massive iron from knocked down buildings and neighborhoods, trash galore and more.
3 bars minimum most of the time and GB numbers up through the 70's and even into the 80's, sometimes.

For years those that bought an F70 with this concentric coil were told to sell it and get the 11"DD instead and many did some without ever using it.
In my mind this was a mistake....especially if you are a jewelry hunter like me.
Like my snipers a good concentric is a beloved accessory in my arsenal.

My in the ground finds with the 10" concentric compared to the 11"DD are the same depth. Where I see a difference is in separation, so for clad stabbing I think the 11" would be better with that hot bar running heal to toe.

Now the shape of the signal on the 10" gives better separation at depth. But this is where over lapping your swing comes into play. The concentric signal is cone shaped and comes to a point at depth.

REVIER is right on target with his post above, your detector will run smoother with the concentric coil.

The 6.5" concentric is also a really nice running coil. I think I run it more than any other coil.

The 10" DD elliptical coil is my most used DD coil, the separation is really good.

I can't remember the last time I had the 11"DD on the stick.

Good to hear from you Ron I just got this F75ltd dst and was wondering if I should spring for a concentric coil or not. I'm having to go with lighter detectors due to tendinitis in the elbow. It was a hard decision between it and a F5. I liked the features of both but you can only get a new F5 from only one dealer now a days. And my dealer wasn't them.

I hear you I live in North Georgia and I have the same type of dirt if you even can call it dirt more less ooey gooey red clay that stains anything it touches.

I like the 11" DD for depth. I like the 10" Concentric for discrimination.
