F75: Back from the Factory

The last think I thought the Fed Ex guy was dropping off this morning was the F75. I just sent it in last Tuesday for the upgrade, so it took a week there and back. Unbelievable....

Sent in the machine and the small coil and told them to make any changes it needed. The note in the box said they added a new coil as the original was bad. The new small coil was working just fine so its the original. I like the softer thicker hand grip. Its going to be a little harder to keep clean but feels great. I can't tell any difference in the battery compartment but then I only changed batteries 3 times since I bought in June. But thats because I changed machines when it started acted up. Should have sent it in a long time ago.

Not sure what changes they made to the machine but it so much different then when it left. The small coil couldn't read a quarter for me more then 4-5" and now its twice that in the house. I even had to go around and find all the sheeting nails in the floor to test out its separation. I put on the big coil and it didn't make a sound while near the floor. It did ID a nickle, penny and quarters spot on and didn;t bounce a bit....YaHooooo.

Now if I lifted the coil up to far to air test a coin, the interference was picked up quick. I took the machine outside and it ran flawlessly. I put it in DE, 3 tone, sens 90, Disc 10 and fast grabbed. Same thing, quarter, penny and nickle solid tone, solid ID and repeated both ways. I tried it in JE and it started to get a little unstable. I like that, I wanted some extra over the DE mode and power to spare.

Fisher did a great job, supplied the needed large coil, added the upgrade for what I consider a deal and got it back to me in 7 days from the time I sent it. Tomorrow is suppose to be one of our better days yet so we are heading out about noon to a little park and then hit the beach downtown in front of the hotels to test it on salty sand.

Good info be sure to post up on how you like it. Its nice to know they are checking them good before they are shipped back to the
owners..Mine will be going in soon..No issues that I know of But like you I will send in both coils and tell them to repair as needed..Heck its just 2 1/2 months old I just changed out my stock batts..amazeing machine..good luck..I learn something new with every hunt..

i sent mine in and cant wait to get it back!

As everyone knows all my previous posts about Fisher and or F75 was all positive, I've used Fishers along
time.I sent my F75 in for upgrade and possible small coil problem on Jan.31 its not back yet.I talked to
Felix today he said it was shipping out today, seems there was some problem getting small coils in stock.
Now this is not a complaint, but it is a long time to be without the sweetest detector I've ever owned.Anyway
seems only fair to post a little negative, with all the positive I've posted in the past.

yep, that would be a loooong time! should be worth it when you get it back!

I am glad you had good luck, I sent mine in Feb. 25th, UPS said it was delivered at Fisher on the 29th. I call Felix on the 7th of Mar. and he said he just received it on the 4th, and there is a 2 week turn around. That means mine will be gone almost a month if that happens.

I think I will be sending mine Fed ex..Seems like folks are having better luck with them..
