F75 and Target Seperation

I just started hunting with the F75 and one of the things I'm noticing about my machine is that if there are several targets under the coil and I'm hunting in all metal, it blanks out the VDI and there isn't any tonal seperation, even though its a mix of iron and a good target in my test garden. The only way I get decent seperation with the VDI and tones is to hunt with 0 disc and in JE mode (targets at 6 to 7 inches deep). Does this sound at all how your machine reacts?

If you have your disc above iron, you will get a masking affect and loss of depth. Either hunt in all metal (you still have ID) or in Disc with it turned down to 4 or below. On my machine it goes nuts if you set it to zero, but 1 is ok. I am used to hunting in two tone mode this way, and you can hear the "grunt grunt grunt" of iron but a little "zip" for a food target. Zero in on those. I am told, I should try hunting in all metal with just a single tone, but have not had an opportunity to do that yet.

I found that out the heard way in Va. When you hunt in AM...and there are a LOT of co-located targets...its easy to lose a good target in all the noise. What we found was that you has to hunt in disc....in two tones.........a medium Sens setting.....and your disc set BELOW the commonest iron targets. Then just dig everything that "peeps" over the iron "grunt".
Anytime you reject iron you enhance masking (I dont care what machine you use).
If you have a test garden....try this:
Put a good target in the dirt at say 4-5 inches (maybe cuff a button)...........and then plant a rusty nail directly over the target at an inch or so. Set your disc at 10 or 12.....and TRY to get either target. You cant!! When you disc out the nail..........you lose the target under it as well. Ok......now accept the nail. (set your disc at say 6...most nails here come in at around 8-9). Now the "hidden" target comes in loud and clear!!!!!! This works MUCH better in monotone...but will work pretty good in 2F too. 2F is less mentally fatiguing, and you dont have to look at the display at all.
This works particularly good in hot soil in Va. The little conductors just "pop"! While you may not get the depth you'll get in AM....I'm betting you'll dig more targets!!! Streak!

Yep, all metal only comes through in one tone for me. Sorry if I wasn't clear on what I was saying. I was lamenting that the way I had it set up in all metal it was useless for ID purposes and I was wondering how these people that were saying they hunted in all metal were doing it, if you can't reliably seperate targets in a junky area. Fortunately, a number of people have straightened me out and given me settings to work with and figure out, with regards to handling a junky site.
