I got the T2 with the updates and have to say it is a very good detector, but for me not as good as the Fisher F75. Here's why:
F75 has:
- Backlight
The always on backlight gave me some extra hunting time when it was getting dark. Once you have that it is hard to live without it.
- Target ID even with weak signals
I compared the Visual target ID of the T2 vs the F75. The F75 IDs with the weakest signal, the T2 IDed 3" shorter on a buried nickel.
- Handles interference a little better
When the light came on today at a school where i hunted the T2 picked up the interference and could not be stopped from going nuts no matter what i did. The F75 was silent after i set disc to 10.
- More depth in JE mode
The T2 seems to be as deep as the F75 in DE Mode. In JE mode the F75 is about 2 inches deeper on a coin sized target.
- Processing modes are independent from tone ID mode
The T2 sampling modes are tight to the tone ID mode you choose.
The f75 processing modes are independent from the tone ID.
- Depth on the fly meter
The depth on the fly meter on the F75 comes in handy, because you don't have to pinpoint to get an idea how deep the target is. The target depth in conjuction with the VDI number can give you some good information.
- Static All Metal Mode
I don't use it but it is there on the F75 if you like that.
- Last setting memory
No big deal on the T2 that you have to set your settings every time you turn it on. Once you get spoiled by the last setting memory of the F75 you love it.
- Better Visual ID resolution of the non iron range.
The F75 does a better job to see the difference of the new style pulltab and a nickel than the T2.
- Notch system
I don't use it but it is there if you like it.
I'll keep both, because for $ 450 (like new) the T2 makes a good backup for the F75.
