F75...a few more tid bits

Off the top of my head rambles.....

The F75 is a very FAST metal detector. Lightning quick response/reset time. In other words the numbers show in real time unlike some other new TID units that the number comes up seemingly a couple sec. after you sweep over it. This greatly helps in trash.... CZ users were always told to hunt slow. With the F75, one can sweep fast and cover sites alot quicker espeically combined with the good sized DD coil. In fact, sweeping fast over a deep target can actually make it sound "better".

The depth reading & pinpoint is excellent....will be VERY welcomed to those of us accustomed to say a Fisher Excel/Edge/C$. While using the VCO pinpoint, it shows in inches, is very accurate, and easy to do with the trigger I always wanted on those units. No more holding in a tactile pad & doing math to try to figure out, "Ok a 50 is like 5", so a 30 is like 7"? ;) The VCO sound & the numbers in inches also is very good for "sizing" targets as well...

Yesterday I talked about the constant Fe3O4 graph. This indicates AMOUNT of magnetic mineralization, & when coil is in motion it's measuring it. When you balance, a 2 digit number shows type of mineralization. I said I would update on the Fe3O4 numbers that show on the bar graph.
3....uncommon heavy mineralization
1....heavy mineralization, common in goldfields
0.3...heavy mineralization found in various regions
.01...medium & typical (& what I had @ last site)
0.03..common light mineralization
0.01/blank....very light

TONES-has a wide variety to choose from, not just for user sound preference, but also offers different methods of audio discrimination. There are 2 diff. 1 tone selections, 2,3, & 4 tone set ups. Also a "dP" or Delta Pitch which each # is a different sound. The higher the conductivity # the higher the pitch.

ERGOMOMICS- Borrowing the configuration style of the T2, swinging this detector will be a joy to current Fisher users....ESPECIALLY those of us who own "big Box" Fishers like the Coinstrike/CZ-70/1270, etc, etc. Those who knew & considered, like me, the 1266x with the betteries under the arm cup the best balanced Fisher of all time. Well, the 1266x may have just lost the title :) Don't let the look of the coil fool you...there was alot of study done to make this fit the arm perfectly. Not top or bottom heavy like alot of detectors. Honestly, trying to use my C$ or 1270 seems awkward now. Long days in the field with "big boxes" for close to 30 years has damaged my right wing (much like a baseball pitcher). So the F75 is very welcomed, & no need to hipmount whatsoever....

I have requested further info on the 3 "process #"... I feel some folks may get the wrong idea that "PF" (plowed field) is ONLY useful on a farm ;) But, I'm sure every "process" has it's place in many different applications. Perhaps one will work good on a salt beach say? These are things we are learning as we go.....
HH,

Also a "dP" or Delta Pitch which each # is a different sound. The higher the conductivity # the higher the pitch.

Is this like the Minelab Explorer series? Low grunt sound for iron and foil going up in Freq to a high pitch for silver?

Thanks and HH,
Stoops.

Nice report, Bill. I'm sure this has been posted, but can you tell me the weight, and length of the coil cable? Is the "box" easily removable? Not only is my right wing damaged, as well, but my back has been damaged from 34 years of swinging those heave boxes, among other things. :D

Thanks, and good hunting,
OldeTymer

Hi Bill: You have a prototype of the F75, you say it is fast, has more control with tones but what I would like to know other then the iron being tighter in regards to numbers is how different is it from the T2 in performance. Are T2 users going to need this machine or are the guys that didn't get the T2 going to want this machine because it is more thought out.

That is what we want to know and you may have your hands tied because they don't want a comparison on both machines from you. But we do! There must be a way to give pros and cons on the most important thing and that for me is relic hunting. You hunting a sight where you used the T2 and you had iron in the ground. Are they = as far as depth, speed? Can you do that for us?

If not then I do understand and there will be others that will buy the machine and be able to compair. You are the best for the job.

just made my camera flash go off & didn't come out right.....
But take our word for it....there's no battery drain at all. Expect 40+ hours with alcaline batteries....

Thanks for the good try, is it possible to manually turn off the flash?

I believe you, just wanted to see the cool glow. I think that is a first also in a detector.

on the end of the hand grip, no that's not removeable.
Coil cord looks to be a "short" cord (probably due to non-hipmountability).
The actual weight is the same as the T2. That number's been posted before, I forget it offhand. If actual weight is up around 4 lbs, I swear it does not feel like it at all due to expert weight distribution. Some detectors may weigh in scale-wise "lighter"..like the Edge/ Excel for example. But, I've used those too and the F75 just "feels" better ergonomically getting away from the "box on a stick" configuration.....
Bill

I imagine for someone very determined & handy with "mods".....I just don't want to promote doing things that could disrupt the 5 year warranty

Well, that would not surprise me after seen your name around. But your statement still makes it possible that you are a pressphotographer:clapping:

Bill, Thanks for the great info. I, too, have been swinging those big box detectors for 30 + years as well and am looking forward to getting a hold of the F75. Again, thanks. jim tn

This was nice if you got to a area where there was some interference you could change the freq a little.
