F75 5''DD question

Hello,I'm an avid F75 user.I mainly hunt old coins & relics in western OH.We hunt old house sites & fields. Our ground is mainly neutral but some field sites are loaded with iron.I've done well with my 3x6 coil.Would there be any advantage with the new 5''DD coil?I normally hunt sens.50,disc.4,3 tones,de mode.I love the sweet high/med tone of a deep Indian head. Also, any preference on frequency?Any input would be appreciated.Much obliged,Mac.

MAcky:

I used the 5" DD on my T2..it acted a little more stable than the 6" football coil on the F75..Depth was about the same in my opinion...Seemed to hit harder on coins and less on iron..Hope that helps.

I don't have the 5" DD yet, but have the 61/2. DD's are good in trasy spots, but I have the sense the little 61/2 will get a tad better depth and in its own right, is pretty darn good in the trash. I have tried different frequencies and never really saw any difference where there was no unusual interference involved. Some relic hunters seem to like freq. 7, so give shifting a try and see fo yourself. HH jim tn

The DD coils are better in materialize ground. The concentric coils will go a little deeper. I like where I live the 3x7 & 6x10 concentric coils. The DD's will hit a rusty cap around 81 ID and the concentric doesn't do that. My 3x7 will get a dime at 7 to 8" and the 5"dd gets a dime at about 6" , hope this helps.

I've never used the 5"DD but do have the oval 6" for my F70, it's pretty impressive. I also have the Minelab 5"DD for my XT50 and really like it also. Don't think you can go wrong with either coil. HH John

Thanks for the info.I think I might hold off on the new coil for now & keep using the 3x6.Much obliged,Mac
