F70 vs. Tejon

Which is deeper for relics when properly set up, the Tejon or Fisher F70? I want to recover some wooded and field sites and get the maximum possible depth and target separation. Many of the areas I hunt are unused pastures, now conservation areas vs plowed fields. I am in the Northeast seeking Rev war era relic and coins. Thanks for any help. I am ready to order and leaning towards the Fisher. Are there other models that I should be considering? I sold my Sovereign and kinda miss it.

I like the F75 but the Tejon is a unit that digs relics nicely in iron as well. I've never used the ML but understand there are a lot who prefer it over everything else.

If the 70 is like the 75, then it is a very versatile unit. I'm still learning new tricks on it (75) and I've had it for nearly two years.

I would lean toward the Fisher over the Tejon as it has some options that can actually make a difference in the field.

Just my two pence.

I have an F70 and personally I think you'd be better off with the Tejon for digging relics. In reasonable to good ground the depth on the Tejon can't be beat. The F70 is ok, but if people are going by the depth meter when they say its deep, they're a bit off as it consistently reports targets at 2 to 3 inches deeper than they are. I'm probably going to catch flak for this, but the F70 I have gets 9-10" tops. The Tejon I used to have got 12-14" in good ground. Now, there is one difference you need to be aware of, the F70 is still a good machine in bad ground, where the Tejon really starts to suffer in bad ground.

I've never had the F70 but can say in bad ground the Tejon suffers greatly in the performance field.
Read the link below on strange things. In the last year I've been faced with many limitations using the Tejon. Now on the other hand this fall's grand national relic shootout will be in SC and they say the soil is very clean when it comes to mineralization, so I should do very well.

the Tejon is mainly for relics while the F70 is not. I've never used the Tejon so can't comment on it, I have the F70 and it's a good deep machine. HH
