F70 Software Update problems....

If anyone is sending there new f70's in for the software updates I have some bad news for you!! I sent in my F70 for the software update with a SUPPOSED 1 day turnaround time. Well they received my unit last week and guess what??? They are sending me a new unit. Good? NO!! They are waiting on chips for the F70's and don't know when they are getting them! So in the meantime I am out my detector with no return time in sight. Just when I thought they were getting there s__it! together they go and pull this one on me. And oh by they way I was the guy who received someone else's F75 by mistake when I sent mine in for the $50.00 upgrade. Unbeleivable!!! Think I am done with Fisher!

It took a call from ME to see where the detector was. They don't even have the common decency to call and explain what is going on. I probably could have waited months before they would have called me.

I am supposed to get a call in the morning and get the status on mine. I sent mine in for the software glitch also. I called them today and they said they would call me in the morning and let me know about mine.

Mike Scott gave me a call and informed me that there was a communication problem with the person I spoke with at First Texas. Apparently she was under the impression that they were sending me a new unit instead of re-programming my original one. Yes, the F70 production lline is down until they do get some chips in that they need for production but it only should be a short while until they are available. Mike did give me the option of waiting for a brand new one or just having mine re programed. I opted on getting a new one once production begins on them again, due to the fact that I am leaving on a vacation and I wouldn't have my original one back before I left. Appreciated the call from Mike.

Well, I found out today that my F-70 was shipped back out to me yesterday from First Texas. They got it the end of last week. I just chose to have the software rewritten instead of waiting on a new one. Mine was new anyway. According to the Fed Ex tracking number I should have it back on Tuesday. I will let everyone know how it performs after I get it back. Just so you know they ship them back by Fed Ex ground unless you want to pay additional to have it shipped sooner. Originally they said it would be a 24hr. turn around, but I'll just be glad to get it back. I will check the serial number to make sure I get mine back. Also thank you Mike Scott for all your help.

I got my F-70 back today. I chose to have the rewrite on the software. It seems to be working properly, Thank you First Texas, Felix and Mike Scott for all your help. I think you did an excellent job and you're first rate in my book. Oh and I did get the exact same one back that I sent in. :clapping:

Hey Tony, it really didn't change the sensitivity much. It's still pretty hot but I like it that way. Did you get a new one or the software rewrite?

Hi Mike,

Like you and the arm strap, I am used to the F70 as it was and now I have to learn to trust it again. Its very nice and more precise than it was before in my opinion.

I am slowly bumping the sensitivity up and making some deep finds with ease.

It was definitely worth the wait to get it done.

Hey Tony, I had the F-70 out on Saturday. I was in the middle of a wide open wheat field hunting with no power lines or anything around me. All of a sudden the F-70 went nuts. Numbers were flashing and the detector was beeping like mad. I started changing the frequency until I got to F7 and it finally all stopped. You could point it in the air, at the ground, it didn't matter. Something just really messed with it. I have no idea what it was but changing the frequency finally stopped it all.
