Well, for some reason, probably the full moon, me and the dog were up at 3:30am...one of us wet on the floor...I cleaned it up on account I would have gotten blamed for it anyway, and he was busy making us a pot of coffee. Then I hit the Forum, checked the world news to make sure nothing big went down that I may need to attend to, and blew out of here at 6...
Took the F70 out for a major run and gun...totters, schoolyards and sportsfields, the traffic lights still blinking yellow, only people out were me and the cannies...out hunting cans as they are apt do..most cannies ride big old Huffys with baskets, generally get a start the night before, and are just finishing up by 5am...but I met an evidently "noob" cannie who was entirely too late to the party, drove a Jeep Liberty! He wont last long! totlots were full of clad! a good sign since this brutal winter really put the hurt on hunting the totlots,.. kiddies couldnt go outside for long, and were all bundled up when they did....there was nothing in them a few weeks ago, still stripped bare from last Falls cleanout...
No schoolyard totlot hunt would be complete without finding a live round, junk rings, and other assorted bric-a-brac![attachment 291070 may1814-1.jpg] Kids now a days prefer .32 cal centerfires, status symbol for the middleschoolers I guess, and small enough to easily hide I suppose ..
Anyway! I hit hard and fast! Spending 20 min tops, unless there was heavy sign...got a little lucky on some stacks and spills..ran my old "milk route", winging it and really moving! Was happy with the results...248 coins for 19.49...one was a 42 wheat..[attachment 291071 may1814-2.jpg]. (I dropped a penny out on the deck and it fell through the crack, so it woulda been 249 coins and 19.50)
We were done and cooked by 10am, ears were shot....so we drove around scouting, smoking and drinking coffee until 11..still outta shape from the long Winter layoff...gotta step it up, its Springtime soccer and track events, fairs/carnivals coming up, etc...Lord how we suffer chasing metal!
Mud.
