F70 Raiders Results..

Well, for some reason, probably the full moon, me and the dog were up at 3:30am...one of us wet on the floor...I cleaned it up on account I would have gotten blamed for it anyway, and he was busy making us a pot of coffee. Then I hit the Forum, checked the world news to make sure nothing big went down that I may need to attend to, and blew out of here at 6...

Took the F70 out for a major run and gun...totters, schoolyards and sportsfields, the traffic lights still blinking yellow, only people out were me and the cannies...out hunting cans as they are apt do..most cannies ride big old Huffys with baskets, generally get a start the night before, and are just finishing up by 5am...but I met an evidently "noob" cannie who was entirely too late to the party, drove a Jeep Liberty! He wont last long! totlots were full of clad! a good sign since this brutal winter really put the hurt on hunting the totlots,.. kiddies couldnt go outside for long, and were all bundled up when they did....there was nothing in them a few weeks ago, still stripped bare from last Falls cleanout...

No schoolyard totlot hunt would be complete without finding a live round, junk rings, and other assorted bric-a-brac![attachment 291070 may1814-1.jpg] Kids now a days prefer .32 cal centerfires, status symbol for the middleschoolers I guess, and small enough to easily hide I suppose ..

Anyway! I hit hard and fast! Spending 20 min tops, unless there was heavy sign...got a little lucky on some stacks and spills..ran my old "milk route", winging it and really moving! Was happy with the results...248 coins for 19.49...one was a 42 wheat..[attachment 291071 may1814-2.jpg]. (I dropped a penny out on the deck and it fell through the crack, so it woulda been 249 coins and 19.50)
We were done and cooked by 10am, ears were shot....so we drove around scouting, smoking and drinking coffee until 11..still outta shape from the long Winter layoff...gotta step it up, its Springtime soccer and track events, fairs/carnivals coming up, etc...Lord how we suffer chasing metal!

Goodness gracious!:detecting: I think you should have your bank install your own personal coin star machine in your garage. Good scratchin. HH jim tn

Mud you should be glad he wet on the floor before he made the coffee. 249 coins, I bet the dog does the digging. That sure is some fine clad stabbing. And so early in the season you must be tired? Nice detecting
I picked up 84 coins today and I had to come home and take a nap.
Great detecting Mud.......Z

half a continent apart but we have similar results, but you beat me on total count, nice job!

Thanks guys, its fun but wears a guy out....in a good way...

Ed, you are way out in front of me on the years gold ring count...a score I hope to duplicate soon...:clapping:

Tired, much?
Great hunt, my legs hurt just looking at the pics!

What a haul ,

Yeah, that was a good haul...easy too, I got very lucky at all the places I stopped...one place I've had my eye on, a school entrance...generally theres always somebody there so I dont stop, but I went past there on my way home and for once, there was no one around, great big pile of coins along the entrance where the snow was pushed that had been collecting for years..
I got in a little hunt this am, did some under bleacher work...In the Spring, they blow all the leaves and junk out from under them to get ready for the season, so I crawled under and racked up a little over 4 bucks in no time...gotta run real light sens, like sub 30, or the bleacher structure screams overload..also gotta hunker down or crawl, and go slow or you will bang your noggin...I doubt many detectorists are spry (or clad crazy) enough to even attempt it...

Too bad a guy cant get a haul like this everyday, its just not feasible to hunt these kind of places when everybody is around, so a fellow only gets a small window every weekend to get in there, (Sunday mornings are best)...a well laid out clad run can easily get a guy 50-80 bucks per month, some jewelry, sometimes paper dollars, just never know...
Mud.

U R a machine Mud. If you were being recorded, I would have to play it back in slow motion just to watch you at normal speed lol
