F70 OWNERS - Hear Ye!

Im curious to know the sorts of headphones you F70 swingers are using with your unit.
I've tried every one I have in STOCK and, across the board, I find the F70 has a bit of a weak audio output.
Contrast it with one of my favorite audio outputs, as found on the the 1236-X2, and you'll see what I mean. :)

Now, I favor an open cuff style whenever I can, as it can gets pretty warm here in South Carolina in the middle months of the year. Those enclosed cuffs really make your ears sweat!

Regardless, I'm keen to learn what you guys recommend??

I've also heard the Jolly Rogers and Grey Ghosts are good.
My only concern with any of these is they are all circumaural, meaning they completely enclose the ear in the cup.

I can feel the hot summer sweat pouring from them now!

Are there any open designs with the larger magnets and higher impedance of these phones?

Some where in my past I remember someone selling an absorbant muff that goes over the ear piece to absorb the sweat. I use Grey Ghosts and KillerB's and know exactly where your coming from. I need to do some research and see if I can find the muffs.

Much as I'd hate to butcher a good pair of headphones, Im wondering if one could simply cut holes in the plastic outer shell to let out the steam?

Both of those are considered louder than most other headsets like Grey Ghosts for example. Killer B's are the loudest I have tried & help to make a weak sounding detector at least louder.....But both have the closed cups to stop virtually all background noise so I'm not sure if that will help him.

For one, I'm hard of hearing. I don't have hearing aids, but I was told I should. My wife swears the Ace contributed to my hearing loss. I thought the F-70 was plenty loud.

Back ground noise keeps me from hearing things. I like the over the ear type. They're great when the snow is flying. I don't know if they are good or bad for MD'er's, but I mostly use Clark Davis headphones in the winter time. Talk about hot, I used them in Fl. also. I have a lighter pair for summer.

I think you would defeat the purpose of the headphones by allowing ouside sounds to interfere. Where as the muffs still supposedly block sound but absorb the pesperation.

Hmmmm, I have a conundrum, eh?

Does anyone have a f70 manual in a PDF or Zip that I can get please. Checked Fishers Website and didnt see one listed. Thanks ahead of time.

It seems they don,t have one up yet.
In fact, I was a little dismayed by the manual itself. It was more of a brief or first draft, and nothing like Fishers usually well done instructions.
I dont have a flat sheet scanner anymore, or I'd help you out.
