F70 Hits A Tot Lot

F70 Goes to The Tot Lot

After my recent escapades with the F70, I thought it might be time to get back to basics. If you

First off, I hate using the F-70 in tot lots. The detector is too sensitive. I can't get close to anything metal. I use the Ace for that. I can get with in an inch of the metal equipment.

Think of the threshold as the receiving coil. The sensitivity as the transmit coil. The threshold would pick up interference if it is set too high. Being set low it would only pick up the strongest signal that over rode the more distant emi. In some setting the sensitivity set too high could get you into trouble. Maybe in high trashy areas, like using high beams in the fog.

Can you find a place that is in the boonies? Do a little relic MD'ing.

A relic field is on the slate for Wed, John. We'll see what happens, then.

But no detector gets babied with me. They all go to the same places and get used the same way.

I ain't talking babied. I just wouldn't use a high powered rifle with 180 grain shell for squirrel hunting. :detecting:

Please accept my apologies if I irritated you with my clipped response. I didn

I personally don't do a lot of so called "tot lot" hunting myself with my F 75, but like you, school yards and tot lots are the first place I hit for testing out a new detector. I dig every signal and reading for learning what the new unit is saying. I am a coin shooter first and foremost myself and I seek out those trash ladden spots for my day in, day out hunting, as that is were the remaining "goodies" are and my detector(s) or choice must work in that envirement. I am looking at geting an F 70 myself, so am interested on yours, and others, take on the detector. HH jim tn

I appreciate your weighing in and admitting you're one of thsoe "dreaded coinshooters," too!
From what I can tell so far, the F70 may be one of (if not THE) best coinshooters around.
