F70 found my Son a JOB!

Flash back to when I got the F70 in the spring of 2010...shortly thereafter, my Wife was having a garage sale, but all Friday night I kept thinking about this one location and how I HAD to go there. It was a long hike out to the Lake, and the Wife said I better be home by 9am...I told her I HAD to go out there because I had a strange feeling about a ring...I am not kidding you, I ran out there, fired up the '70 took about two sweeps and hit a class ring! My very first one! I got home at the appointed time and the daughter looked up the girl on facebook and emailed her...

The garage sale started with the usual fanfare, people coming and going and negotiating a nickle off on a beanie baby or tupperware dish, with me performing my duty as the bouncer or lifter of heavy things..then, the girl who lost the ring called my cell number, and I told her to come on over...she did, and while we were doing the return, one of the people at the garage sale noticed the excitement and identified herself as one of the local newspapers reporters and asked if she could do a story of the find and return..

OK, so the article comes out, and this one guy reads the article, and for some reason he called me up and wanted to meet me, so over to the house he comes. He owns a manufacturing business that makes those long tee handle probes and other specialized tools to locate underground lines, septic tanks etc...He had me visit his shop, and gave me a very nice long handled probe in case I ever needed to probe for a cache or old privy or something...said the article of the return restored his faith in Man...I dont know, I'm really a pirate who would rob a cats cadaver of a silver necklace, but not wanting to spoil his moment, I let it slide....

Now, my Son got out of prison a few years back, 8yrs...he's 42, and as you all know, its tough out there for ANYBODY to get a job let alone anyone with a record. He's been living here and doing his best to make the most out of the rest of his life, but nothing solid has gelled...

For some reason last week I thought about the guy who gave me that probe, so I stopped by his Company on a whim...he remembered me and I told him about my boy, straight up honest and all..said he needs a chance, and do you know anybody that will give him one? is all I asked, not expecting much......he starts Monday.....all blessings brought about by the Lord and the amazing F70! ? I dont know how to call this one? Something very big afoot I have to think about some more..

You already called it....Blessing!

Neat tale Mud. Lots of good, bad and strange things happen to us in this hobby. HH jim tn

Mud,
Amazing how doors get opened!
Blessings to you all.

P.S. I had to chuckle at the picture; the young lady's pose is exactly like one our youngest daughter uses when in her normal "hamming it up for pictures" behavior.

Mud it is called God's favor. It is an off shoot of grace. We can't ask for it, we can't meet any qualifications to get it. it just comes--- enjoy it while it's there. He's smiling on you!
HH Ed in colo.

Mud one of the best stories I have heard in a while, keep up the good work. Truly a blessing and restores my faith in the good people that still remain in business. We should never tire of doing good, we will receive the benifits of our efforts all in due season.

Very good story and as said karma comes back around . Great story best of luck to your son .

Excellent story Mud. Thanks for sharing. :clapping:

Thanks fellas, thought I'd share a little more that the '70 has brought in. Surely did not expect this kind of pay off when I took this sport up.

For those of you who are wondering about my boy...

One night, he went with his brother in law to collect some money from a guy, and when the debtor exhibited some agitated recalcitrance to remit the agreed upon expense, implying a possible physical altercation could perhaps postpone or dissuade said payment altogether, this strategy enhanced by the presence of two other burly associates of the reprobate, my boy, perhaps through the fear of a good old style Chuck Norris beatdown, or in an effort to exhibit the possible consequences regarding the foolishness of their intent, thought it would be a good idea to assuage the escalating debate and perhaps speed things up by poking a gun in his face!

I hope in the future he will consider alternative methods or at the very least have a mental rolodex with better excuses handy when Friends or Family ask for assistance. He lost everything through this unfortunate endeavor, including his wife....I should have tried to find him a job with the IRS come to think of it, he would quickly rise through those ranks by employing tactics like that!...

ps...I'm not nearly that fat now...swinging coil sure trims a guy down.

great story mud.... wow, hope it all works out..... what a chain of events.... hopefully the apple didn't fall too far from the tree and he can work his way into something he enjoys doing .... best wishes fingers crossed and long live fluffy....

You look young mud to have a 42 year old son. Maybe it is all that swinging that keeps you lookin' young! I am glad the owner of that company is giving him a job and I wish him well. HH - Jim

That's amazing how things fell in order like that.....good story!
