F5 vs CZ 3D

Not trying to compare apples to oranges but had a thought. Do you think the F5 was going to replace the CZ 3D? I don't know sales volumes of the F5 but thought that if the sales of the F5 were very popular the CZ line would eventually be gone due to the costly manufacturing costs. Did the F5 not take off like First Texas had wished? Seems the F5 is a truly sleeper detector. In my air tests comparing the two the depth seems identical. The F5 sure has a fantastic user friendly control panel with lots of info available.

mike. if an F2 was rated at 5 out of ten what would you rate an F5 at? is the extra 300 dollars really justifiable for coin shooting purposes? thanks from AUSSIE Alimo

i think when they say 5 out of 10 they're refer to the condition of the detector with 10 being the best for that model.

Alimo88,

Comparing the F2 to the F5: I think your ranking is off. The F2 would be more like a 3, which would place the F5 around an 8.

Yes, in my mind the F5 is worth the extra money. Its a true multi-purpose metal detector. The big three for me are..

# The ground balance circuit is second to none.
# The separate Gain and Threshold controls allow complete control over the unit (yes there is a learning curve to get the most from it)
# Multiple Tone ID modes....you really can't over estitimate how much this feature alone is worth.

Add to that the Frequency Shift, the high conductor ($) notch segment, and the FE304 graph and yes...it is quite the detector.

Good luck,
Mike
