F5 OR F75??? Thank you in advance.

F5 midpriced detector that has both analog and tactile push controls. Concentric coil....

F75 Fishers Digital "Top of the line"... DD 11'' Standard coil.

If just casual coin hunting........F5

If wanting relic , coin, etc. and super depth the f75 will be the way to go. Don't forget the between detector F70...

F2, F4, F5,F70, F75

don't under estimate the F5 its a very good machine at a very good price.it doesn't need all the bells and whistles it works very well without them but its your money-i'm all for saving some of mine

Say what you will but I got 8" on a dime with my F5. How deep do you want to dig?

If money isn't in question, go for the F 75, or, even a T 2. The F 75 is deeper and it is just nice to know you have that extra depth. The so called "bells and whistles" are all additional tools that work for finding coins and relics that under certain circumstances the F 5 may not. HH jim tn

I just bought an F5 today. Hunted my parents 1800s farmhouse for a short bit. Only found 36 cents clad and half a horse shoe (house had a blacksmith shop in the 1800's). I am not really sure what I am doing yet. Any tips would be appreciated. HH

If you want the best it is hands down the F75 I have both and only use the F5 as a back up and that happened only once. The F75 will be harder to learn it can be a beast to understand all of the noise but that is what is in the ground you are hearing and it is when you get that tone that you want to dig.

Hi Steve,

I hope you will enjoy your F5 as much as I enjoy mine. I can't imaging not having one and I've rebuilt my whole detector arsenal around it.

A susgestion for hunting your folks house, you could use the 2 tone mode and notch out the foil, nickel, tab, and 50 cent segments. That will leave you with a low tone for the iron and the higher VCO tone for the rest. That will cut out a bunch of trash and allow you to focus on finding good targets while you are learning how it works. Set your threshold on 0 and raise your sensitivity until it starts to chatter in the air. It should be quiet when sweeping the ground. Anything that isn't the Low tone should be a non-ferrous target at this setting. The VCO tone will tell you how deep the item is by how it sounds.

Use a 1 second sweep (onethousand-one) for a 4 feet sweep pattern.

Share your ground phase and FE304 graph reading.

Good luck,

Mike
