Looks like there's two ways to GB the F5:
1) Easiest - Switch to AM, and hit the Phase Lock while pumping the coil 1" to 6" and when the GB and phase numbers match release the button while STILL pumping, then switch back to DISC mode. Really works like the fast grab IMHO.
2) The three thumbs method - Again switch to AM, pump the coil, and turn the GB knob until the GB and Phase numbers match up.
Is one better then the other ? Method #1 sure is easy (as easy as the C$), but do you loose anything by going that route vs manual GB so to speak?
I saw that Streak! posted that it really didn't matter if you used the Phase Lock method in AM or DISC mode, so in that respect it's really better then the Coinstrike, as you get a visual validation that it's done correctly vs. hoping that it's done correctly with the auto confirmation the C$ provides.
I'll be testing this out at some older sites up where my parents live in Lake County, CA this weekend and will post back my results. I'm planning to do some fresh water lake hunting where some old Victorian lake front resorts where once located, and was planning to use my Sovereign, but I think I'll try the F5 as well as the coil is water proof and smaller then anything I have on the Sov.
