Hi:
YEEEEEEEAAAAAH.
I bought an F5 from timinky and it came today.
It is in excellent shape.
I just put it together and will try it out when I come back from the bank.
watch out nickels, dimes and quarters-Here I come.
David

OK here we go.
I took it out after looking at the video on youtube.
Sure trying to recall everything it took a little while but this little F5 is good.
It is not a GT as they say but I will tell you it found my buried coins.
The gb says my soil is about 71 to 77.
Medium but some parts are in the 30's.
I did find two pennies both from the 70"s but it is hot as heck out.
90 degrees.
Now since I got back in to detecting about a month ago i bought a used silver umax which I sent back for not working right on ebay .
then all the rest were from the forum-a bandido ll umax, Xterra-70, xterra - 705 and now this F5.

Now I know i went over the same yard with the others and I don't see how I could have missed these pennies but it found them-not deep just 4" on one and maybe 5 on the other but
I know you won't believe this but I got a distinct signal in all metal mode and I just turned on the discand still got a signal, i think it said zinc.
Not even sure . I had a garden trowel and after a few attemps it wouldn't go deep enough.
I though ok this is one of those signals and you dig and there's nothing there.
It was my back yard in the back so I got the shovel,a spade shovel and buried it and lifted out.
it still gave me a signal over the hole and I started to feel stupid.I went past the end of the shovel and inch anyway and lifted out.
No signal over the hole.I didn't measure how deep it was but I still can't believe it but I sifted through the dirt and it turned out to be a little brass type snap like they used to use to button shirts.
About 1/4 ".

you now own the best detector there is -for my money anyway- this thing will surprise ya everytime out-to better familerize yourself and some settings look up Mike Hillis post-the manual is wrong if ya go by what MH tells ya you'll be ahead of the game F5 wise anyway-good luck

Oh you are in for some fun. This is a great detector, and like woodwizard said, for the money it can't be beat.

Congrats on the new F5! I saw the Youtube demo of the F5 and decided that I also just had to have one and try it out. I did a straight trade for one of my other detectors and hope it will be here Monday or Tuesday. The F5 really looks like an interesting machine. Now I also am all hyped up and doing the waiting game..

Most detectors hunting an old spot will pick out targets that were missed. Could be the time of year or the angle the way the detector was ground balanced and sometimes a new user will just dig more targets. But it is all good the target that was deep alot of the time is a big target. If you raise your coil above the target and get a strong hit it is a big target
