F5 and the AT Pro = Comparing detectors Part 1

Mike Hillis

Well-known member
Why put out any effort into comparing these two metal detectors? The answer is simple for me. The F5 is the Fisher machine I like best and the AT Pro is the Garrett machine I like best. So why not look at the two units in such a way as to increase the knowledge about both.

Where do you start comparisons? I like to start this way, with a simple feature comparison chart. Then I can take each feature and delve into it and compare performance characteristics.

So this feature comparison chart is my starting point. Its mostly just published information about both detectors as found in their manuals and websites. If you know where I can find any missing information, let me know. I'll be a little slow because I intend to be thorough. But it should be a benefit to the fans of both machines.

If I'm missing something or got something wrong, please let me know.

PS... the adobe version is very clear but conversion to something that can be uploaded takes away a little clarity but its not too bad.
