F5 and salt water beaches

Took the F5 to the beach a couple of weeks ago and was very pleased. The unit would GB from the mid 40's to 50 on the dry sand and from 4 to 8 when I was next to the ocean. (wet sand) I was using the stock coil and I had the Gain at 70 and threshold at +1 and in the wet stuff it ran smooth. When you would hit a big patch of black sand it would chirp a bit but to be expected. I always heard about VLF going crazy on wet sand but the machine is more stable then in the ground we have in Central VA. I just received my 5 inch DD and will play with it.

Very interesting.
I've heard the F5 should out perform the F75 in the wet salt sand.:detecting::bouncy:

I hope to try my F75 this fall at the coast.

The only problem I found with the F5 at the beach was that it thought bottle caps were quarters and pull tabs were nickles.
Other than that it worked fine. Plenty of depth and good stability. Easy to pinpoint without pressing the pinpoint button.

I've got the Tinfoil program, but not used it yet.
Have you actually used it?
