Took both detectors to an area that is killer on machines. Started with the F5 and 2 tones disc on 6. This area is hunted out by me and the way the dirt and nails sound on a metal detector are fresh in my head from the days of hunting in the past few weeks. The F5 found a few nails and tiny brass. I hunted about an hour and then took the F75 and used 2 tones and a disc of 0-6. I have to tell you the F75 is so perfect for an area like this. It sounded so cool, you could hear it sniffing out the good targets. It ran smooth even no it was giving off iron hits every second. But you could hear how well tuned this machine is even in the worse ground.
It was at that moment that I realized that the F5 is my backup and can not hold a candle to the F75 for relic hunting in bad ground...Give it a DD and I bet I would have to rethink that. The F70 is the way to go for a backup for the F75 for relic hunting. I do like the F5 for turf hunitng maybe becasue of he different freq but it will not go as deep not even close to the F75. I needed a backup and I am happy for now with the F5.
