F5 and F70 will I get more old coins with these over my F4?

I know some of you have had 2 or all 3 of these machines. I am thinking about moving up the line with a used unit. I hunt mostly old trashy parks and the beach down to the water line. I can't afford more than 400 or so. I can get a used F5 or F70 for that. Also a ton of older machines like a cz5. I would be moving up primarily for additional depth, since the silver seems to be picked clean from the first few inches of the parks I hunt. I am also thinking about a used whites PI for the beach. So many choices!
For example, do they actually provide more depth or is it just that you can make more adjustments allowing you to hunt at peak performance more often?

Right now I am delighted with the F4, I have dug more than one rosie at 8 inches. My soil seems pretty forgiving ( I do always Manual GB). I usually hunt with just iron discriminated out. I alternate between digging all repeatable signals to just cherry picking the high tones depending on my mood. I haven't done too much beach hunting, but I live on the ocean and based on the diamond ring I recently found, my wife wants me to hit the beach more often! At my beaches I seem to be able to ground balance no problem and run very steady in discrimination with iron disced out right down to the water line. I haven't tried the surf. My deepest beach find so far is 6 inches on a penny.

I am a "gadget guy" with an engineering degree, so taking advantage of advanced features would be a welcome challenge for me. The only "problems" I have with the F4 are occasionally having to turn down sensitivity due to EMI and iding bottle caps with the DD coil (though I'm getting better at that overtime).

I have read a ton from all of you and all over the web. Reviews opinions etc (hey its too cold to dig so I am keeping busy). Right now I feel like I won't improve my finds significantly with an F5 or F70 and I'm leaning toward a Dual PI for the beach or doing nothing until I can afford an f75 ltd. What do your savvy veterans think?

My opinion no. You won't find more coins. Best way to find more coins is learn what your machine is telling you. Nothing beats experience. And a ton of good old fashioned luck! HH !

Where you hunt is way more important that what you hunt with.
I dont care what detector you use ... it the coins are not there ... it wont find them.

I have hunted many a place that just doesn't have the coins..

Yes, you need to be in the right place to find the coins.

Some places like parks etc, but there will be a time where the park will be void of coins and such. Why ? Because someone beat you to them and found them all with a Discovery 3300 or a Fisher F2. These are just as good at finding coins like the F4. I used an F4 for 5 months, found over $500.00 with it easy.

Now I use an F5, had that for 5 months, and it's paid for itself in coins and gold ring finds. I look for places that may not have been hit in the last 2 - 5 years. Research is the game, visit places and watch to see who goes there, this includes looking for coin hunters looking for coins with a metal detector, if you don't see anyone there (someone using a metal detector) over a 3 - 6 week period, then there is a chance that it's not been hit for sometime, it's all down to the luck of the draw, being in the right place at the right time.

Last year I pulled over $1000.00 in lost change from 7 parks / ball fields and 35 silver rings and 5 gold rings alone, that does not include the pendants and silver coins and buttons and other stuff / junk.

What size and kind of coil are you using on your F5?

The stock coil, and the 5" DD coil, but I use the 5" DD most of the time because of the trashy area's I hit.

my opinion no. im assuming you have internet access because you post here. finding higher quality hunting grounds, and learning your machine is more important than paying for a diff detector(that will also take more time to learn.)i started with a bh quick silver. i increased my sucsess with the public library and the internet investigations. well and working up the nerve to ask permission to hunt

F5 has my vote, especially with the sniper coil.Plus you can fine tune it to your hunting conditions! IMHO
