F5 advice

mxt-user

New member
I am looking for a 2nd detector. I currently use a Whites mxt-pro. I want something in the $500 range. I have watched youtube videos on the f5 and it seems to be solid on vdi numbers. However the beeps seem awefully loud and annoying. Do the F5 owners/users notice this to be an issue? How does the F5 compare to Garrett AT Pro? I am torn between the 2.
Thanks

I had an MXT pro and I though it was way too loud. The F5 is not as bad as the MXT. I have the F5 and the At Pro now. Depth wise in my area they are about the same. Both have notch discrimination. The F5 has more audio options than the AT Pro. The AT Pro can be noisy in trashy areas in pro mode. Both are not very good at correctly identifying a nickel past about 4 inches in my ground. They both pinpoint real good. Both have a pretty good selection of coils. If I had to take one it would be the F5.
