Was thinking about getting f5, To save money I may go with f4. Can't find a lot of info. Are their any F4 users out her that can help me out.
Would like to know ease of use and expected depths of finds.
Coins, Relic and jewelry hunting, Inland and beach.

Welcome!...You ought to take a look at that Eurotek Pro, also made by FTP...great reviews and posts about it, ...for the money...that thing should pay off in a hurry...I dont see how anybody could get into such a great rig as inexpensive as that ETPro..you can get a brand new one with an 11"dd and still be $100 less than an F4!.

Definitely get one with the 11"dd...I think this is the kind of rig a guy could get into as a noobie, but keep for a lifetime, possibly as their primary rig, ..I think its a real sleeper that nobody noticed much...5yr warranty and 20+hr battery life...? the more I read about the specs...yeah, you better take a look at this one!...

Guys? tell me what I'm missing here, for Brians sake?

Well, the F4 is still at the entry level of detectors it does have a few upgrades over the F2,
11" DD coil and
Ground balance for the all-metal side.

But, if money isn't an issue seeing how your considering the F5 I would recommend the jump to the F5. The F5 will have a bit more of a learning curve but if you just use the basic settings starting out then you can learn as you grow and your not as likely to be looking at upgrading detectors in six months.

I've had the F4 for a couple of years now. Relatively easy to use. I work mostly ocean beaches, dry sand.
I use a Tesoro Sandshark for the surf. Overall I'm happy with the F4, good depth. Found some nice coins, silver bracelets and rings.
For the few times I worked parks (bad back) also effective. Like I said depth is good max of 6 to 8 inches,Double D coil works fine.

Hope this helps

I'm going to agree with my brother(markc) and recommend going with the f5. This machine is not that hard to learn how to use and the performance is outstanding. It will be hard to find a used one because they are so durable and they perform well.

Ground balance and AM mode? The F4/F5 can balance to wet sand, though not as well as the higher freq waterproof units.
