F4 and F75 at the beach...

Mark in NC

I took the F4 and F75 on vacation with me this past week. Both detectors handled the wet sand better than I expected for single frequency machines! This particular beach didn't seem to have much black sand, and I'm sure that's what helped... In the dry sand, they both kicked butt! Unfortunately Carolina Beach was sanded in, but I (and my assistants) :) still managed a few goodies....

Here's my youngest niece having fun with the F4! (a new detectorist is born)

Here's my other niece and my nephew, also giving the F4 a workout

...and here's part of the loot for the week

I had a pm from someone who politely reminded me that I had forgotten to put my settings in my post... (I have a good memory, it's just short)

F4: Disc on default, and I adjusted the sensivity down slightly and the disc up slightly when in the damp sand. On the dry sand, I ran it wide open... it responded with some DEEP targets! Sizing is easy with the F4, so those drunks who bury their beer cans 'cause they're too lazy to take 'em to the trash can aren't much of a problem.

F75: Disc on 6 (yes...even in the damp sand...somehow), sensitivity all around... 80's in the dry, 20's to 60's in the damp. De process mode. The F75 is so hot it cooks the clams while they are still in the sand. :) Tiny low conductors were NO problem... depth in the dry? Well, I need a bigger scoop!

Like I said above...the sand here is "mild" which probably contributes to the ability to run the disc low... (guessing here)
