F4 and F5

Bought a F5 been using it for a few weeks now.
It can be chatty depends on how you set it up.
Very sensitive to small targets and tiny pieces of foil.
Like it very much though.
Went out today got a small ladies silver cuff link at 5 inches

Kinda...My F2 can chitter like a chipmonk at certain sites, at others it is quiet as a mouse.
All the F series detectors are real sensitive, especially to EM, but that high sensitivity is also one reason why they can find so much great stuff.
Now I generally hunt on max sense always, noise never bothers me and I have learned to pick out the real signals from the background noise easily.
Most just turn the sense down to quiet it some, you do lose a little depth but not much.
Today I hunted a park with absolutely no signals or tones unless I was over a piece of metal and that is very rare for me.
I have gotten so used to the way this thing usually works that it is somehow comforting to hear a little chatter.

Now I have read posts from several owners of everything from the F75 down and sometimes, at first, they have a hard time dealing with that sensitivity.
2 guys in my MD club swing the F75, one is new and he loves the light weight but says it is too unstable to use in the front yards of homes.
Too much trash makes it sing operas.
The other guy has had his awhile, learned to tweak the settings and the language, and has no problem hunting and finding great stuff in those same yards.
A couple of guys I know got F5's and within 3 hunts were ready to wrap them around trees or throw them into rivers.
Now, with more experience, they are both very happy with them and are now happily hunting and finding some great stuff.

Like anything new, there is a learning curve and if you have patience it will all come together eventually.

F5 can be chatty, but as Joel said, its all in the setup. Turn down the sens or the threshold and you can get it to run quiet. I like to run it on the edge a bit, once you get used to it you'll be able to pick the good signals out of some light noise. F5 is a fun to use coinshooter with a user friendly interface, tuneable to most any hunting scenario.

You can make it as quiet as you want...................

The F5 is a solid machine. I started out with one and then thought I would upgrade to an E-Trac, but after 2 weeks with the E-trac I'm really wondering if it was an upgrade. I went back to a park I worked with the E-trac and re-worked a small section with the F5. Let me tell you how shocked I was to dig up 3 quarters, 3 dimes, and 4 pennies with the F5 that the E-trac missed. The park was very trashy, but I set up the F5 to find coins in places like this: discrm out, fe, foil, tabs, and zinc- yes zinc. The F5 found these coins with no doubt or hesitation, the quarters rang loud and clear.
Pin pointing with the F5 is fast and super accurate, I can find and dig 5X faster with the F5 than the E-trac. It was mentioned that the F5 is light, well that is an understatement compared to the E-trac: the F5 is a feather weight! If you plan on seriously doing lots of detecting, consider investing in rechargeable 9v batteries, they work great but just note the voltage indicator may read full charge, and then your sound will cut out and the battery meter shows depleted. That is just how the voltage drops off with these. I always carry an extra set. But expect 20 hours of use on a full charge.
Hope this helps and adds some insight.
