ive been using my new f2 alot and this had happend about 3 0r 4 times.i get a good strong dime signal and i find a penny and when i get the penny i swing it over the coil and i know thats what it detected because it says dime.is anything wrong or is this normal?

You are hitting what I call a high penny 70' and 80's...because of their mettalic composition will read dime on most units many in the $1,000 range..So for a relative inexpensive unit I would say your doing quite well..and believe me all pennies are not created equal from early indian heads which read square tab right up to the high penny...

Yup, thats OK, where i hunt the coins are always in REAL bad shape corrosion, have this problem with all detectors in this area, probly would work fine on ID if all was controlled enviorment (like in a factory where they are manufactured) But they dandy detectors:detecting:

thanks for the answers.and dan-pa i have notice that every penny i found that appered as a dime was made in the 70s and 80s .thanks for the advice
