F2 vs F4

I get many e-mail asking about the F4 vs the F2.

What can the F4 do what the F2 can't ? Is it worth the extra money ?

Here is what the F4 has over the F2:

11" DD coil (deeper, more ground coverage, better in bad soil)

Auto Tune All Metal Mode with ground balance:

This mode in conjunction with the ground balance gives you more inground depth and better operation over bad soil. It is also perfect for very small targets like gold nuggets.
It is so sensitive in this mode that a very small needle can be detected.

The F4 has more target categories that can be notched in or out.

Now is it worth the extra $$ over the F2 ?

The F2 is $199 with two coils right now (X-mass special).
The F4 is $425 with three coils right now (X-mass special).

If you would buy the 11" DD coil ($125) for the F2 is would be $325 total. That means the Auto tune all metal mode is $100 extra to bring the price up to $425 F4 price.

Depending what you plan to do with the detector you may have a use for the Auto Tune All Metal Mode with ground balance.
For the guys who plan to do nugget hunting or relic hunting the F4 is the better choice.

The F4 has also the non motion all metal mode. If you press pinpoint it stays in the non motion mode until you press pinpoint again. That mode requires manual tuning of the threshold by pressing pinpoint if the threshold drifts. So the F4 has 3 modes (Disc, Auto tune all metal, non motion all metal) and the F2 only one.
