F2 VDI meaning

I have a F2 and new to decting. I have no problems finding coins but what would gold or silver ring number wise.

I found my first gold with the F2 in our local park. I can't remember what it read when in the ground, but after recovery it read 46. It was only about 3 inches and it was a 10k mans band. I do remember I did not hesitate to dig as the tone was repeatable and a solid lock.

Rings will read different numbers depending on their size and composition. There are no set numbers. I have been told gold rings can read as low as foil (small womens band) and as high as zinc pennies (large mens ring). I have tested 4 gold rings and I got 1 small nugget ring that came in as a nickel and the larger rings read as tabs. I have no small band to test so don't know for sure about the foil reading. I have not found a gold ring as I get tired of digging tabs and probably walk over them.

I have found 3 silver rings and they were dime or quarter signals.

Its tuff on the f2 because it hits hard on dimes and quarters. And locks on dimes and quarters well but on nickels doesnt seem to lock as well. Most pull tabs and nickels will hit same as rings. Now that doesnt mean the f2 wont find gold rings etc it just will be harder to identify them. I think it may be because of the 6klhz frequency it runs at.
