Ive used my omega a few times now and learning more every time. I really like the omega. Super easy to use. Its definitely more sensitive than the F2. It hits hard even on small targets.
Adjustable ground balance and frequency change are great. Sometimes my F2 would just act strange and become very noisy. With the omega I just check ground balance and change frequency and works great.
I like the ear phone jack placement better on the F2. I worry of breaking it off on the omega.
I miss my tones on the F2. I guess I got so used to them that I need to learn to love the tones on the Omega. With my F2 I could hear the difference between a penny, nail, quarter, etc. instantly.
There is lots of info in the omega I guess I just have to put in the hours to get it. Though I placed a penny, nail, pull tab and swing over them. With the omega they all sounded the same. I really have to read up on the tones and play with it.
One thing I noticed today that I could hear a target hit but I would not get a ID number???? Not sure why. It was only a couple of targets and I didn't really have time to see what the issue was. Pretty weak target I guess.
I swung both detectors over a few targets and the F2 actually held its own but all my targets were 15 cm or less.
Had a blast with the omega. I think it was a great move up for me. I think if anyone is looking to move up they won't be disappointed with the omega.
I was lucky enough to find a used unit from Backwoods and saved some money to boot.
