F2 church yard finds

Found this Mexican coin in a church yard. Don't know if it's real. Any ideas?

Found this badge in the same church a few minutes later and a few feet away. It is slightly larger than a silver $ and it's thicker. It weights 30.1 grams. Also found over $7 (mostly dimes and quarters) in that church yard in under an hour. That's the best I've ever done in that amount of time. They have a fireworks stand there every year so that explains it.

Thanks for your time

i believe the 25th infantry was in the Americal division in vietnam while i was there in 1968-69. don't know any thing about the medal.

In your photo the date appears (to me) to be 1882, but maybe it's just the lighting or somebody messed with it. It should look more like this (1992):

Very nice!
How do you like your F2 now that you have had time to get out and use it.
Care to give a review?

The photo is accurate as to what the date seems to be, 1882. I assumed it was 1882 until I saw the same coin dated in the 1980's or 90's for sale on eBay for just over a dollar. After seeing that I doubt this style of coin was minted in the 1800's. But, by the wear on this coin the correct date could be 1982 rather than 1992 as you state and depict in your altered version of my photo.

All the best and thanks for the comments.

...the peso with an "N" on the left of the "$" was minted from 1992 thru 1995. In 1996 the "N" was removed. A 1982 peso looks like my 1981 photo (I don't have a 1982) and this style was minted between 1970 and 1983.

...which is same year as your 1 peso coin. Your new peso is worth about 9.2 U.S. cents and mine theoretically converts to about 1/10 of that. In reality, mine is worthless.

I wonder what you can buy in Mexico with a Peso? I imagine inflation has cought up. A can of pop cost how many Peso's in MExico.
Probabaly more for the gringo than for the locals.

My wife found one and it was still golden color and thought we had something there only to find out it is worthless. Sure did look nice though and got the old heart going.

Other gold colored foreign coins get me for a second too, especially if found in dark dirt.

While standing in line waiting to cross back into the US I say a local pay a vendor a 10 Peso Coin for a bottle of water. This was just last month. I think the new rate of exchange is about 11 Peso to the US Dollar.
