F2 Battery change problem

Goldbug Ron

New member
I bought an F2 back in May and have used it occasionally over the summer. Finally the original batteries got weak so I changed them. The detector was turned off when I removed the old batteries. I put two new Duracell alkalines in. When I inserted the second battery I heard the detector come on. Now I can't turn the detector off. It still works just fine. I have found about 50 coins since then, but have to remove the batteries to turn it off. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix, or does it go back for repair? Goldbug Ron

Then my detector would shut off right after hitting a target. I go to turn it back on and check the battery life, the battries were still full. couldnt figure this one out so I called a dealer. It was due to the non alkalines. As far as what you are asking? I have not a clue but would love to hear the answer in case it ever happens to me.

Soooooo you got the problem solved, but why not return the detector? It sounds like
there is a problem with the electronics. Has anyone else experienced this problem.
If not, I'd send the machine back. Just my opinion.

Perhaps the membrane touchpad may need to be replaced. Moisture of some sort may have gotten in the on/off portion shorting things out. Sounds like a trip back to the company is in order.
