F2 all metal question

Basic question does the F2 detect coins deeper in all metal than discriminate ? Does it ID better on deeper coins ? Rather than air test, has anyone got a jumpy signal or faint signal and switched to all metal and got a clear reading that was a coin when dug ??

Got the F2 this evening after dark. Realize now it only goes to all metal in pinpoint- so all my questions were moot. Should have waited.
