I have for sale a pair of headphones. They are Koss brand that were sold by White's. Older model I assume as I could not find them on the whites website. Got them when I bought my detector and dont really like them. They do have an adjustable volume thumb wheel on the cable. Also, they do have a mild smoke smell to them and the foam is not coming off but the thin leather like material is peeling off...sorry, they came that way. Nothing major though. I would be interested in trades on any Whites coil that fits the XLT (6.59 freq.), a digger of some sort, and whatever else you might have for trade... or just make me a cash offer. Thanks - Goob!

Those are great headphones. I loved my pair and used them for years until I finally broke a wire set. That "skin" peeling off is just normal to them and doesn't affect the performance. You didn't list a price, but I think they would be a great buy for someone. They sold new for $100 or more.
send them back to Koss and get them repaired. I've had mine since I bought my XLT back in 1997, had to send them back about 3 times since I've owned them. I love them,but was told this would be the last repair as they can't get parts for them anymore. Then how did they send me a brand new pair!!!!! I just don't understand that, but what the heck. I now have a new pair now. JMO
