I have a line throwing gun for sale 350..00 shipped. Comes with all that is pictured, wooden box, gun, 3 spools of line, box of blank ctgs. cleaning equipment, Made in Doylestown,Pa. if interested i can sen more photos.

Very cool item! :super: Just a word of caution. You may want to look into the legality of shipping this to the buyer. I believe this is considered a firearm which would require it being shipped to a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL).

You do not have to have an ffl to get a muzzle loader I see no difference im this.

For crying out loud, it fires blanks, no projecticle other than a rope line....

no wonder this country is in such a mess. You do not need a license to sell it, nor, does the person buying it. It is about the same as a big cap pistol. You don't need a license for a flare gun, even.

Wish everyone would stop giving this seller bad, panicky, fraidycat advice.

Your best bet for getting a good price for this very interesting WWII collectible is to go to a couple gun shows in your area and appoach WWII collecters set up there.

In my way of thinking, it is, like I said above. It is like a big cap pistol, a flare gun, or, a starter pistol. In MOST states, you don't have to have a license for a starter pistol. What the feds would be worried about is the diameter of the shells that it shoots. If the blanks say what they are like 40mm, etc. then, PM me and I would be glad to further advise you.

The nearest thing that your item would resemble is a starter pistol. Here are the laws for air rifles, starter pistols, etc. in PA. It reads that their concern is that a starter pistol not be sold to someone under 18.

You are welcome to scan the entire 390 page book on PA Firearms Laws if you like. Again, from what I can discern, they are concerned that it not be sold to someone under 18.

again, your best chance to get a good price is to go to a local gun show and walk up to a couple of WWII collectors.

Maybe calling some of these show promoters, they might know some collectors... and advise you which show to attend.

Really? As someone who buys and sells firearms online on a regular basis my advice was not "panicky, fraidcat advice". When dealing with legal questions about firearms it's always best to er on the side of caution, as breaking the laws (Even accidently) can have some serious consequences.

Below is a direct quote from manufactur of this line gun.

The difference is that on a muzzleloader the charge is loaded from the muzzle end, and I don't think that's the case with the line gun. It's a small, technical difference but for some reason the Fed's have decided that muzzleloaders are exempted from FFL requirements.

FYI - I found this from a company that deals with this type of device.

IMPORTANT FOR PURCHASERS OTHER THAN GOVERNMENT:
These line guns are considered firearms and must be shipped to a
Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer in your state. Be sure to put
the gun dealer

i spoke with a lady Beth at the company that make these guns. She is going to email me all info on the line gun. What she had told me as long as the steel canister is mounted on the"gun" i do not need this ffl paper. I had this sitting around my house for awhile along with some other things to sell. Only reason I wanted to sell it was to purchase a Vista Smart metal detector. I am very happy people here respond to items that seem to have a grey area. Thanks everyone for the help and info. P.S anyone looking to trade a vista smart
