General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

I am selling a Tesoro Cortes for $300.

I bought this detector last year. I have never had the chance to use it because of the hours that I am putting in between my job and at home (I don't mind the hours I put in at home).

No surprise that it sold fast. A typical used Cortes usually sells around $450-$500. Congrats to the person who was first to grab that up. You got a great machine at a great price!

Thanx for the congratulations, the Cortes was one of my favorite detectors. I regreted selling the one I owned about 7 years ago.
It will be nice to own one again.

Hi Sven,

I'll give you a tip. Modern clad will jump all over the place, but the one thing that will tip you off is that the TID number will show 95 as you swing the coil, but will show other numbers too. If you sweep the coil back and forth, and a 95 shows up at least once, dig. I found 10 nickels this morning along with a dozen dimes and quarters using this method. If the numbers show in the 80's you are probably going to dig a zinc. I have seen very few exceptions. Numbers in the 40's have been pull-tabs 100% of the time for me.

I run with my disc just above iron, and I am getting very impressive depths. I have dug coins at 10" and 11" in moderately moist soil, and dimes at 8" in bone-dry soil. If you get a signal that jumps in the 80s with the occasional peak at 95, and you dig, and the signal seems to vanish, look closely. There is probably a dime sitting on end in your plug. I have seen that many times.
