Selling this for my daughter, she used it for her online school classes and no longer needs it. Works well with no issues other than one little dead pixel in the top right of the screen, it came that way. Pulling the add on the laptop, I did not know it at the time of posting that the laptop will shut itself down every once in awhile. I do not want to sell it to any of you with this issue.

Maybe it shuts down because sleep mode is enabled? You know, if it isn't used for a predetermined amount of time it will put itself to sleep. - Jim

Hi Jim, what she told me was that she had the laptop sitting on her pillow and was playing the game the sims most of the day nd it got real warm and shut down. She told me that windows 8 has this feature, I do not know but just didn't want to sell it if this is not the case. It is a nice laptop and what she wants for it is very reasonable if the shutting down thing is something that it suppose to do.

There are air vents on the bottom of the computer....if blocked....the computer overheats and shuts down.

That was my exact thought too. Ski, your wife has to have the laptop on hard base or as James mentions, there are air inlet(s) that can't receive cool outside air. The computer senses the temperature rise and shuts down. - Jim
